It's not really that I care what they think, because I don't. It's more the cumulative effect of being surrounded by people who behave like that.
Take PUGs for example. I was in a heroic recently and we wiped. All of us released and found our way back in apart from one guy who apologised and said it was his first time here and was having trouble finding the way in. It was no big deal for me, but the others in the party started saying things like "OMG tard just leave" and "noob" and "learn to play". It wasn't just that one time, I see that kind of behaviour all the time. I see people get vote kicked 2 seconds after they DC, instead of people just waiting a moment for them to come back online, tanks or healers being abused because they made one mistake. Eventually I have to ask myself if I want to spend money to share my time with people like that.
Maybe you're lucky to be on a really good server. Maybe I'm just in a terrible battlegroup (Misery lol, lives up to its name). If you know a good server then for the love of god tell me and I'll move to it.
Well, I'm having a good time on Twilight's Hammer EU (Battlegroup Blackout). I've heard rumours of population decrease, but I haven't noticed anything myself, the server seems mostly populated by Swedes, and at least one of the major guilds is Swedish only, with some exceptions for Norwegian players. There are plenty of english focused guilds though, the community seems decent enough there, we still get some of that stuff but it's online, so it's to be expected.
If someone starts [censored]ing at me for no real reason, I'll talk back, I will calmly and sensibly explain why he is wrong and why he should shut his mouth, and that usually does it, if it doesn't then I whip out the votekick if he's actually terrible.
