Anyone do some frost tanking on a dk? Through default I have received 2pc t10 Sanctified tanking set in VOA 25. I should really learn the setup, rotations, and look for some good weapons to go with it.

I've tanked as frost, but that was..a very long time ago. Probably over a year ago. So things have changed. :(

The background downloader is now prompted with patch 4.0.1 for live realms. :) It's soon guys..early november..
Once 4.0.1 comes out, weeks literally until Cata. Same with every pre expansion patch that updates class spells and talents. It never fails.

I was reading they are going to do away with all badges and marks and turn them into justice(PvE) and honor(pvp) points. Some of the older badges can be turned in for gold too. I forget the conversion rates but it will be nice to have one set of points for each aspect of the game instead of each area or tier.

Edit: MMO Champion has a handy http://img266.imageshack.us/img266/1212/badgehonorconversion.jpg up.

Yea check mmo champ. 100 emblems of conquest converts to 550 gold.

On another note, seriously thinking about changing my rogue back to Forsaken.

I didn't do a conversion of honor points in that picture as you can see. I did the ASSume thing and didn't realize they are being changed as well. 1000 current Honor Points will equal 24 new Honor Points. Guess they are doing this to combat inflation. :laugh: On a good day I can get around 75k honor in a few hours of BG's.

Anyways heres the exact conversion rates. Subject to change yadda yadda yadda:

Spoiler

Justice Points

* Emblem of Frost = 2.75 Justice Points
* Emblem of Triumph = 2.75 Justice Points

Gold

* Emblem of Heroism = 5.5 gold each
* Emblem of Valor = 5.5 gold each
* Emblem of Conquest = 5.5 gold each
* Badge of Justice = 1.833 gold each

New Honor

* Old Honor * 0.024
* Old Arena Points * 0.85
* Battleground Mark of Honor * 2.976
* Wintergrasp Mark of Honor * 19.08
* Stone Keeper Shard * 1.6
* Venture Coin * 3
* Spirit Shard * 1

I'd like my characters to the list:

Ocylan -80 Draenei Hunter - Blackhand

Akesios -71 Draenei Shaman- Blackhand

These are the two I play the most.

I got into the beta with my guild, but I haven't played much. Has anyone else gotten in? What did you think?

I've cancelled my sub for the time being. I logged in the other night and just thought "I'm done with this". I think part of the problem is that I've done the leveling content so many times that I've burned myself out on it and can't bring myself to do it yet again. Added to that is a community which seems to be filled with asshats who delight in being rude and using the word 'noob' (usage of the word 'noob' in a non-ironic way is almost always a sign that the person saying it is best avoided). Maybe I'll wait to see how Cata goes down before I give Blizzard any more of my money.

That's your choice to make, but let me ask you this: Why do you care what these people think?

In my experience, you've just been unlucky with your server, my server has people like that, but they are mostly completely ignored or just ridiculed so they have no impact on the community as a whole, the vast majority of people I've met in WoW have been very nice, some of them I now consider real friends, and I've met several of them in the real world.

It's not really that I care what they think, because I don't. It's more the cumulative effect of being surrounded by people who behave like that.

Take PUGs for example. I was in a heroic recently and we wiped. All of us released and found our way back in apart from one guy who apologised and said it was his first time here and was having trouble finding the way in. It was no big deal for me, but the others in the party started saying things like "OMG tard just leave" and "noob" and "learn to play". It wasn't just that one time, I see that kind of behaviour all the time. I see people get vote kicked 2 seconds after they DC, instead of people just waiting a moment for them to come back online, tanks or healers being abused because they made one mistake. Eventually I have to ask myself if I want to spend money to share my time with people like that.

Maybe you're lucky to be on a really good server. Maybe I'm just in a terrible battlegroup (Misery lol, lives up to its name). If you know a good server then for the love of god tell me and I'll move to it.

Well, I'm having a good time on Twilight's Hammer EU (Battlegroup Blackout). I've heard rumours of population decrease, but I haven't noticed anything myself, the server seems mostly populated by Swedes, and at least one of the major guilds is Swedish only, with some exceptions for Norwegian players. There are plenty of english focused guilds though, the community seems decent enough there, we still get some of that stuff but it's online, so it's to be expected.

If someone starts [censored]ing at me for no real reason, I'll talk back, I will calmly and sensibly explain why he is wrong and why he should shut his mouth, and that usually does it, if it doesn't then I whip out the votekick if he's actually terrible.

There's no server where you can escape it, I quite like the server I'm on (Aggramar) but ti's absolutely loaded with complete [censored]. They come in all shapes and sizes, Elitists, the misinformed, the abusive, the loot stealers, etc...

I can recall many times where people's behaviour has been pretty reprehensible.

When you exit the dungeon you should be right where you were just before you entered the dungeon. You could use your hearthstone too if it's not on cooldown.

I've yet to see anyone who's truly elitist in game actually (amazing I know), most people seem to think that the fact that you know how to play your class well and know what to do in a raid or instance and thus expect other people to actually learn that as well before doing high end content are elitist, they are not.

Oh yea I thought I was an elitist. Some of the people I run into in randoms proved me wrong. That attitude is going to happen wherever there is any hint of anonymity. You got to have a thick skin and just let it roll off your back. Most of the time they are just looking to get a rise out of people. I have noticed some servers in battlegroups are worse than others for the attitude.

Me too. I made a list so I could ignore names on other toons, and noticed that there were several names from two servers.

It's not really that I care what they think, because I don't. It's more the cumulative effect of being surrounded by people who behave like that.

I've stopped running dungeons for this reason, the LFD has turned into the Dumb ass Finder. For a while I could tolerate the groups, and really appreciate the occasional good grouping, but eventually the dumbassery became too stressful. It stopped being even moderately fun.

So what? Who cares what these people think? if they expect you to play your class right and be prepared for what you're about to do by knowing tactics and having what you need, then they are completely justified, if not then ignore them or tell them to shut the [censored] up, nothing easier in the world.

Hey, we're on the same Battlegroup. Maybe I'll see you in Random heroics or battlegrounds. Horde or Alliance?

edit: Sneakmaster, I used to be on Misery too (Chamber of Aspects EU) worst battlegroup ever imo. the server itself was pretty terrible too, at least on Horde side.

edit again: Fang123, I loved enhancement (I know that's not what you asked) but I'd say buy dual spec, get elemental/resto and heal randoms for fairly quick groups. But try to build up a set of enhancement gear if you haven't already, really fast questing that way.

Alliance, I was horde for a while, me and my friends decided to spice it up a bit and we all faction changed, met some awesome people and then we and our new friends switched back because we missed alliance, the new people we met switched so they could keep playing with us, which was pretty awesome.

I cant seem to get back into WoW. I'll log in for like maybe 15minutes to chat with guild members and maybe run a short dungeon. I hope when cata comes out I can enjoy leveling more.

If you don't think Cata is a vast improvement in terms of levelling, you are either so sick of the game that nothing will change your mind or insane. My experience with the Beta has been that the levelling process is far, far better than it used to be. It honestly makes vanilla and BC look like [censored] in comparison. Also, the revamped zones will be available to anyone, expansion or not. And that's an incredibly good move by Blizzard, considering that only 30% of people who get the trial actually keep playing, which is ridiculous, with these changes to old content I think player retention will rise signifigantly.
