WTB more dungeons like Grim Batol that require a lot of CC. That just really makes me so happy. I hope blizzard doesn't give in to the QQ and nerf it, because it really needs to be that way.
In TBC and Vanilla, dungeons and 5 mans was what got you ready for MC. You couldn't be ready for MC unless you had done those encounters, which were hard and frustrating and nothing held your hand through it, you just had to "learn" it. I loved that, and it completely disappeared in WOTLK. I'm glad it's coming back.

I've been PVPing, Arathi and Warsong, for the past two days and it's been nothing but fun. I'm about to ding 39, I started at 37, but soon I'm gonna go ahead and start leveling again because I heard Alterac Valley is one of the better battlegrounds?

AV is one of the better battlegrounds because it's 40 on 40, straight up classic battle style. 2 bases, 2 bosses, a full 40 man raid per faction, a huge open map to battle in, it's just epic.
Of coarse there are other mechanics to AV besides killing the bosses. Each team has resources. The first team to kill the opposing factions boss wins, or the first team who runs out of resources loses. It's pretty fun.

Yeah AV games do tend to last a while. There is an achivement, I think it's called "The Alterac Blitz" which is to complete AV in 6 minutes or less. And that's a decently hard achievement to get. That kind of puts into perspective how long the games usually last. If 6 minutes is a stretch, most games last for 30-45 minutes. Sometimes more. Not to mention winning an AV when you're still leveling gives damn near half a level of XP. Every tower you cap you get 15k, followed by a huge amount when you win, like 75k+ xp. Double that if it's the holiday weekend BG.
Hell, I remember in vanilla WoW, the 3 hour long epic AV's were amazing. God I miss vanilla WoW..

In Vanilla AV's used to go on for upwards of 72 hours. I could join one at night and come back after school the next and join the exact same BG. Now that was a fun PvP experience.

But then they brought in resources, moved the horde base, took out the trolls and the gnolls. Made it almost impossible to summon the elementals and airstrikes in the time you currently have and basically ruined it.

I don't think I ever saw 3 day AV's, although it's not too far fetched with the way things used to be. They went on for a loooooong time. Summoning the elementals was fun.
It's still possible, but I have no clue what you're talking about with "airstrikes". I've played since 3 months after release off the game and I got leut commander, never saw an airstrike in AV.

Hunter and DK pets got a huge revamp on the Beta for Cata this latest build. Basically, certain pets you can choose as beast master can do things like heal, cast heroism/bloodlust, among a lot of cool other things.
Check it out on MMO-champion.com if you wanna see it, full list is there.

I hit level 20 with my Dwarven Hunter today. Is it really this repetitive all the way through? Is there no MQ or am I still at too low a level to get a taste of the story.... assuming there is one

The texture on the mane could use some work to get rid of that green tint, apart from that it looks awesome.

I'm glad they decided to charge something, instead of making one riding free and continuing to charge for the rest. Be nice if they'd at least let the training carry over from Outlands.

Not in the sense of most games there isn't. But there's tons of lore, and many quest lines and dungeons are related to some aspect of it, so a "main quest" would be a lot more freeform. There's usually some sort of main objective too -- I'm not sure what they were for vanilla WoW and BC, but in Wrath it's to stop the Lich King from turning all of Azeroth into his Scourge minions, which you can do by joining a raid with other 80s and fighting your way through his citadel.

The zones and quest lines themselves are generally the main focus of leveling, and if you pay attention to the quest, they have a lot of storyline to them. Most questing areas have some sort of questline that has chain quest leading up to the killing of an elite, and then moving on to the next zone.
But yeah, it's an MMO, it's a grind up until level cap. That's just the nature of it. Once you hit 60 though, those quest get a lot more fun.

250g is what I wipe my ass with, I can make that in about 1 hour lol. Not a lot at all.

BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY.
Patch 4.0.1 just hit PTRs, ladies and gentlemen. The big patch before an expansion comes out is on the PTR, which is different from the Beta. That means everyone can now test it. Do you know what that means? That means Cataclysm is close.
I'd say a month.

It's terrible...I honestly think I am done with WoW with Cataclysm. 1 hour and a half on the ptr and I don't wanna play anymore knowing whats to come. I STILL HATE the new talent system. Drives me nuts I have to waste points in abilities just because their isn't enough options to even make it down to my last talent without putting points in useless talents.

Are dwarves the only ones that use guns?

Nope. All races can use guns, but it depends on what class you are. All hunter classes can use guns, plus rogues and warriors.

I kind of like the new talents. After looking at them for a long while, it seems to make more sense now. And the talents are a huge DPS increase over the previous talents when you count in the fact that Blizz is giving all the simple damage increases as passive, and now you have room for more colorful talents, like we have now.
And don't judge Cata just by the PTR lol. The PTR isn't a reflection whatsoever of what Cata will be.

And no, The Gate Keeper. The Beta is still a closed beta that is only accessible through an invite.
But everytime a patch comes out in WoW, that usually includes a change in talents, new content, a new raid, etc, it goes up on the PTR for testing. The PTR means Public Test Realm, and its' not a part of the beta.
But the entire beta isn't on the PTR. Just the new talents/glyphs that they are introducing in Cata. They do this everytime an expac comes out. Once the PTR hits live servers, which means the new spells/talents/glyphs etc will be introduced to live servers for all to play, the Expansion will only be weeks away after that.

Patch 4.0.1 notes:
Classes: General
-Many class talents, spells, and abilities have been overhauled, added, or removed.
-All spell and ability tooltips will now display damage averages rather than minimum and maximum damage potential. ---This feature is on by default but can be changed via the Display settings under User Interface options.
-Ammo has been removed from the game.
-The character levels at which classes gain new spells and abilities have changed.
-Many item and class stats have been changed or removed.
-Rage has been normalized.
-Spells and abilities no longer have multiple ranks and now scale with character level.
-Talent trees have been altered. All player talent specializations have been reset, allowing for free re-specialization.
-Each specialization has been reduced to a 31-point talent tree.
-Players will now get a total of 41 talent points to spend.
-Players will be asked to choose a specialization at level 10. Doing so will result in the unlocking of a spell or ability unique to that specialization, as well as one or more passive bonuses.
-Once a talent specialization has been chosen, players may only place points in the primary tree until at least 31 points have been spent there.

Judging from the Beta right now I'd say more than a month, then again my Beta is horribly broken and I can't even log on anymore so I might have missed something.

Also, on the flying in Azeroth fee. Seriously? 250g? That's virtually nothing.

EDIT: Please, please do not judge the entire Cataclysm expasnsion based on the PTR, it is only the pre-cata patch, not the entire Beta. This does in no way reflect the whole of Cata in any way, it shows off the new talent system, which is an improvement honestly. The talents are more exciting now and most of them are more usefull, no more of these "+1% to whatever" talents that don't require you to do anything, talents are now far more dynamic and I welcome that.

Also, Cata's main focus is obviously levelling, the amount of changed and improved content is just ridiculously large and levelling a character has never been more fun.

My bet is for Cata to come out late October or early November.

No way it's out in October, late November possibly, but I'd bet it'll be later than that as well.
