Unofficial World of Warcraft Discussion Thread #12

Anyone who feels nerfed, keep in mind that you are not level 85 yet and you do not have gear with mastery on it yet.

Good point, plus we still have to figure out how all the changes will affect each class, especially the changes that aren't actually bugs.

Last night I tried a new hunter, and some warrior kept trying to "help" me kill things, probably out of habit. Totally unnecessary now, hell I was killing things way faster than he was.

Druid is weird now! Tried one of them too, cat form at 8 which I totally wasn't expecting, but the talents aren't always easy to afford right away. I'm not too keen on the big spellbook either, but I do like being able to see what's coming. I'm hoping to try him again for a while later today, then check out pally and mage.

And I want my tracking spells back, I don't want to have to keep checking and unchecking things in the map's dropdown menu. But, I'm not able to play my high levels yet, so maybe it won't be as bad as I'm expecting.

Anyone annoyed with the quakes already? I'm REALLY undecided about them -- yeah they're cool, probably better in a major city, but last night I felt at least a dozen while I was questing alone, and it started to get on my nerves.

True, but there are still 84 levels of gameplay before that, which is a long time to go feeling nerfed :hehe: The main problem seems to be a lack of rage generation for tanks and a drop in DPS for fury warriors.

Anyone notice the shaking ground in Orgrimmar? Hopefully there's some sort of event on its way :D

Warriors have gotten a rage increase as far as I know, and prot warriors are now doing more threat to balance the scales with the other tank classes/specs.

I'm downloading the patch right now, will leave it on overnight since I won't need my computer for the exam tomorrow, just a pen and something for my nerves :P

Yeah I know about Cata hehe, I just wondered if there was something similar to the zombie event preceding WotLK. I've never been part of a world event like before and would like to experience it.

Edit: ret paladins on both realms I play on are moaning big time :hehe:

Edit 2: Just discovered that heirlooms are currently more than twice the price of ilvl 251 emblem gear, wtf?

There will be an event invoving elementals going ape[censored] in towns basically, mages will open portals to evacuate civilians and low level characters who don't want to get oneshot.

OH GOD. My elemental shaman is so stupid OP and well as his resto spec.

My rogue went from 15k DPS combat spec to 10k mut which is saddening. My warlock is going destro or demo(I am speced both with dual specs)

My 57 mage is Arcane and DOMINATING in battlegrounds. Same with my level 30 Moonkin druid.

Only class that seemed fun (and overpowered) that I tried was Mage. They did some awesome things for them, but knowing Blizzard they'll get the nerf bat fast and hard. Mages are not allowed to be fun or overpowered for long. ;) The three others I tried (Shadow Priest, Ret Pally and BM Hunter) were either "meh" or a disappointment. As for those saying "You're not level 85" etc... you still can glean a lot about the state of a class after a patch at 70-80.

...this.

I just didnt wan't to spoil it, but yeah, what he said plus at first you've got to place barricades and you've got to clear zones of the city.

The elemental event sounds awesome :D

My ele shaman is now incapable of running out of mana. On single target I can stand and nuke for 5 minutes and I'll finish with 100% mana. Even on AoE with chain lightning and fire nova I'm not going oom, nowhere near it. I've had lots of comments from people watching me test my DPS on dummies about the mana regen. I'm hoping Blizz won't notice it and nerf it.

I played on the PTR, Fire mages were insane. Proc instant pyro, then proc another with that cast, something like 36k damage in a sec :P.

My level 70 that I've been working on the past month is much less fun than he was on Monday. :( Mana regen issues svck during solo leveling. I miss Spirit Tap and Divine Spirit greatly.

I just did five instances in a row on my mage, only had to use evocation once. I just don't run out of mana, it's crazy.

Mage is tremendous right now. I wish to heck I'd leveled one of them instead of a Shadow Priest. I have a piddly level 30 one and he just runs around killing nonstop with no thought to mana.

FWIW, for a while there right before the patch, I was working on leveling a naked mage, and it was kinda interesting. After the patch, I started a couple toons on a trial account, one walks nearly everywhere, the other is trying to do as many achievements as possible before time runs out. Once I can get my sub going again, I plan to take my main on a tour around the old world, hunting rares and finding all those extra places.

How long has it been since you ran around with a new toon on a new server, or did anything besides the usual 80 stuff? Maybe just try something you haven't done in a long time, if ever?

I know what it's like, I'm bored to death with ICC and WotLK raiding in general. And seeing as the new patch completely [censored] my threat I'm basically done with warrior tanking untill that's fixed, so I'm having fun with my mage. Fire is just absolutely insane right now, and a lot of fun.

I'm going to take a "tour" of the old favorite zones (Azshara, Desolace, etc...) before Cat changes them forever. Going to log out an Alliance char in Auberdine before the release date just to see what happens (since its supposed to be destroyed).

Well I am only a level 20 hunter on my main. No other toons. What are some fun things to do when all your friends' subs have run out?

I don't know, level I guess, do some instances or questing, maybe some pvp. Unless you want to wait for your friends before you keep levelling.

They don't plan on renewing their accounts any time soon. What about that random dungeon thing where you press "I"? Is that any fun?

Yeah, levelling in instances is great, and it's good practice to learn how your class mechanics work in a group, which is important for raiding down the line.
