I don't mind the PVE side of the things, I guess this is just a complaint from the PVP side from how I used to play. I could spam arcane shot all day in a big fight with mana and kite more than one person, where as with focus if I get into a fight with more than two people I can probably kill one but there is no way I can kill the second one, cause my focus isn't recharged and none of my shots work except the ones that I have to stand still to fire and they take too damn long.

The classes are just plain unbalanced in PVP as it is right now.

Aspect of the fox lets you run and cast steady shot, you can move and regen focus that way.

At level 83, which I'm sure is Blizz's way of making you buy Cata so you can enjoy PVP again, but that means that I can't enjoy the earlier levels of PVP like I used to.

I know you're going to tell me the end game experience is what WoW is about, and I'll agree for the most part, but I'd like to enjoy the occasional couple days of pvp to distract from the grind of questing. I was completely dominant in the 30-39 bracket with my Hunter pre-patch, now I'm in the 40-49 bracket I'm pretty weak unless I'm fighting a single char.

My hunter is only level 35 and I rank pretty high in the battlegrounds.

Marksman.

That's what I was pre-patch when I was so dominant, I wasn't doing so well in 40-49 though so I respecced to Survival. I can pull off like 15-1 or 2 BG's, but it still feels somewhat sluggish and I almost want to explain the k/d ratio away to just a bad horde team. Maybe I just really have to relearn entirely how to play the class, so it could be all me.

Has anyone else had trouble completing the Cata quest: "Visions of the Past: The Slaughter of Biel'aran Ridge"? Seems to be bugged :( I cannot start the quest "By Her Lady's Word" as no-one is offering it.

Keep doing quests in the area. The Battlemaiden line is broken into 3 parts. Eventually one of the Earthen Ring guys will tell you to go look for more info about the Battlemaiden.

Right now pvp is inbalance , unless you are warrior ,rogue , mage or druid you ain't going to do much in it unless you have healers with you.

Enhancement shaman are good imo. Lava Lash is beast.

Also Survival is pretty much amazing to level/BG level with as a hunter.

Awesome. There's a mount you can get that makes you a dragon that can carry people.

Survival is amazing altogether right now, it's rocking hard in PvE as well. Looking at the blue posts on MMO Champion, I get the sense they're due for a few small tweaks though, possibly to reduce the damage a little.

Still playing my Elemental shaman at the moment, finished all the guild HC achievements and have managed to get to level 5. No mean feat considering how small we are, just a few RL friends mainly.

I actually did a boneheaded thing and passed up a rare monster that drops a stone drake. Seen that it had a mount vehicle option and was friendly. So I thought it was for a quest. Told my guildmates and they said I just passed up the Cataclysm version of the Time Lost Proto-Drake. I'll be kicking myself over that for a while.

I'm seriously debating whether I should drop tailoring on my lock and pick up mining. Tailoring got the shaft this expansion. Bags are the same size as last expansion and cost way more to make. Tailoring is nothing but a money sink. The only reason I can think of to keep it is the 3 carpet mounts and cheap thread enchants.

If you're all looking for a good way to make money be on the lookout for treasure chests. I believe they have upped the amount all throughout Azeroth. Each chest contains a bit of silver, a rare item, and some other stuff. I have found some while doing archeology and sold off the rares, gems, and recipes for about 2500g.

wanna slap you...I spent at least 24 hours logged on staying in Deepholm and 72+ camping it in general. Tailoring does svck, I have it up to 507 on my warlock but I have about 100 bolts of cloth.....yet I need damn volatiles to make items and they're about 30g a pop...

However I make a killing with Alchemy transmutation master.

Well Hunter and Warlock are great levellers and spend most of their time sat on the faceroll train in end game, it's pretty rare either of them does badly at anything for longer than a few weeks. I have a hunter at 80 waiting in the wings to be levelled when I can be arsed. Mages are pretty fun as well and Frost is a real killer in PvP. My personal favourite is elemental Shaman though, I don't really know why, it's just sort of fun. Not great for PvP at the moment, especially arena, but I really enjoy it anyway. It's flexible enough that you can re-spec into being a healer or melee DPS as well, so if you find yourself bored of ranged pewpew then you can always switch without any real hassle.

I'd stay away from priest atm if you don't want to heal, in comparison to other classes I've played Shadow is an absolute [censored] for levelling, mana efficiency blows. Doesn't seem like they're too competetive on the whole at end game right now either.

Frost Mage + Mage Armor = no downtime whatsoever. The only other class I think that could be easier at leveling is an Affliction Warlock. The Mage would have a definite edge in pvp and burst damage though. Either of them will have to do crowd control in dungeons. Warlock will be using a glyphed Fear, Banish, and possibly a succubus's Seduce. Mages have the polymorph.

I prefer ranged dps and right now the frost mage is the easiest to do.

No downtime on my destruction warlock.... Life Tap + Soul Harvest = full health and mana in less than 30 seconds. I used to be affliction but I think I like destro better now.

I'll probably go frost mage since I've always wanted to play a mage. Not sure which race though. I'm going to roll horde this time.

What's a good horde race to start a mage as? A good starting zone would be nice also.

I'm getting pretty sick of being a good healer in a sea of stupid DPS and bad tanks. When the stars align and I get a random with a smart tank and DPS we can farm away and do any heroic with ease. Then I have groups like yesterday, heroic BRC(Blackrock Caverns) first boss. Shaman and priest eat the Skullcracker attack from the boss after chains of woe is broken. Type "...sigh" in chat panel, tank replies with "No you didn't heal them through the smash" so he's already trying to accuse me of being bad when the mechanic is to break chains and run, skullcracker will one shot a tank with 160K no "Healing through it" about it. Anyways, wrist drop off the boss and the enhancement shaman rolled need on them as well as me as "Punishment" because I let them die and told them they were wrong for not moving and he won them.

These people are called Wrath-babies. In Wrath that was how it was, you just ran through [censored] while the healer used his infinite mana pool to heal everything, in short, it was terrible.

Cata turned WoW back into what it was supposed to be, unfortunately a lot of people suffer from Wrath-Syndrome (Also known as stupidity) and can't come to terms with this "new" (not really) direction. Some of the ones that started with Wrath are willing to learn and improve, most are just morons or entitled children who want everything handed to them on an epic plate.

Blood Elves?
With their history with magic and just the magical feel they have they seem like the best mages to me. That being said I have a Goblin mage.

Yea, I went to purely enhancement spec. I do 16-18K DPS on tank and spank fights and 12-14k sustained DPS with movement and add switching. I guess I would rather carry people as DPS then as heals. I will prolly go back to healing come the next tier and people smarten up.
