Apparently Mike Morhaime said during the Activision earnings meeting that WoW subscriptions have dropped by 600,000 this quarter. In the future they plan to release expansion packs at a faster rate, which probably means they'll be smaller (I'm guessing this will affect the content patches too).

It's already affecting content patches.

Honestly, every single thing I hear about WoW these days just gives me less reason to ever come back. I was excited as hell when Cataclysm came out, the Beta was an awesome experience. And then I saw that Blizzard had learned presicely nothing from the way they handled raids and gear in Wrath (Emblems). I know many others feel just like me, this game simply isn't aimed at me anymore.

Well I have a feeling once ToR comes out, WoW is going to lose a lot more subs. It won't kill WoW but it may be a big hit.

I don't think so, the games are incredibly different in some fundamental ways. ToR is aimed at solo content to a much greater extent, or at least solo-friendly content. The storyline will take the front seat and I have a feeling the game will just have en entirely different overall feel to it. I don't think it will threaten the current wow playerbase honestly, not to a large extent. I played WoW for 5 years for a reason, I don't like what the game has become and that's why I stopped. I like what ToR is shaping up to be though, people who enjoy WoW now probably don't feel the same way.

I'm just getting this from the feedback of the community. It may just turn out they'll try ToR, play for a few months, then go back to WoW.

And they lost subscribers at a faster rate than during any of the other expansions.

Ordered WotlK and Cata today. Finally getting back into the game! Time to herb ! I can't wait to use my shadow priest.

Just canceled my account.

I just can't make myself play anymore. I have to almost force myself to level my current characters let alone make new ones or maintain my Shaman raiding. It also doesn't help the guild I was in with people I enjoyed raiding with, talking in vent, and overall just being online with are all leaving it seems. Started with one core raid member leaving for Rift, then one by one we kept losing people, I myself didn't raid for some time for military obligations. Came down to us PUGing people for raids and not raiding some nights. Guild leader came on told all the old members to get in vent, said he himself was now quiting and the guild was turned over to someone. Very much saddened me. I logged in today and had a letter from the GM with 10k in it from the guild bank. Apparently he divided it up and gave it to people. I got 10k others only got 5 but I was around alot longer then our current main raiders/officers. I just don't wanna start over with a new guild. I server changed/faction changed my shaman to a PvE high pop Alliance server and made him a Dwarf. That's when I decided I just have no drive anymore.

Indeed from stories from my friends that use to play wow , guilds members and the guild itself can become close to you. Unfortunately I really can't get into the guild part of the game. Sure it might help in raid and dungeons but finding a guild where I am not a number for making guild experience is well seems tough. And hell I am quite new to the game , sure I took like a four month break but I have no idea . I just fear that the community will be kinda tough, hell I have no idea what I should as a shadow priest , sure I know not to bring in agro and run out in a dungeons and whatnot but I am clueless on rotation how to get good gear and I put all my skill points in shadow I haven't even put any in the other slots or know what I should put in the other slots. Well hopefully by monday I will be playing again.

Well at least I am not the only one , my friend got bored or sick of their other friends not waiting for them to level and other reasons. Another thing I dislike was my 30ish prot warrior. So not fun protection warriors no wonder we have problem getting tanks.

That's why you be active in any guild you join and then the gm or high ranking officers notice you. Then you get easy rep with your guild, rank up and become good friends with them.

It's too bad my server is a bit of a joke when it comes to PvP. I'm almost thinking of transferring but I'm not sure.

Damn , anyhow what addon is for your hotbar? I haven't been able to find a easy to use and good looking hotbar yet.

Hotbar? You mean the bars my abilities are on? That's Bartender with ButtonFacade mod for the shading.

I use Bartender, Buttonfacade, and ECB (eCasting Bar) for my cast bars. I usually run with SUF (Shadowed Unitframes) but after 4.1 it broke and I haven't fixed it yet. =/

I don't look at ZG/ZA being reused as a bad thing. I loved ZG in classic WoW, and ZA was good too. They are fun, challenging heroics intended to hold us over until tier 12 content. Works for me. Plus, it's an advancement of lore. Fun stuff.

Pretty excited about the lowering cd of WoG, I'll definitely pick up selfless healer once 4.2 hits. It just saddens me that a dk can heal more than me.

I hate running randoms through the dungeon finder sometimes. One group, the tank knows what he's doing and the dps are alright. Then the next time you get a tank with half your health (healer here) and has cloth pants with stam and agility. I'm going to go crazy.
