They have the best 1-20 experience in the game IMO, and most others think the same thing as you'll usually see most of every other race in the BE starting zone doing those quest because they are so much better designed than any other horde race.

Not the very first quests, those can only be done by Belfs (unless they finally fixed that). Other races can do the quests that start with the ruins of Silvermoon though. I don't care for belfs much myself though, I only go out there for the recipes and rep.

I agree with Mulgore, the Tauren zone. I love my moo cows, and I love the area, but it's sooooooooooo spread out, and a lot of things are up a hill, which can make targetting harder.

I say try whatever catches your attention. I started with a trial too, and trust me, 10 days will be plenty of time to try a few races -- plus, trolls and Orcs share the same zone, as do gnomes and dwarves. If you do one race, there won't be any difference when doing the other race, other than the butt you're looking at and the classes that are available. And the tiny viewpoint from gnomes

And holler when you pick a realm, one of us might be on there too

Forsaken for sure on the trial, everything is close and it's definitely the best starting area of the vanilla races, imo.

Check out TotalBiscuit's http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YfAAP-Hcslk&feature=popular. Shows how you can change the Worgen ears, and human form of worgen. Also read the comment that says "GW 2 is going to own you fools" and then read TB's response.

I think the BC trial is only for after you've reached 60, and it'll let you go to 61 IIRC (not sure if you can get it just to try the races). No idea about Wrath, but it's probably the same. Those two IMO are better for after you've done the trial and decided you want the full game -- grab BC at least (I think they still sell the Battlechest?), maybe watch Wrath's price in case it drops around Cata's release.

[edit] Brain fart -- I'm not sure if you can even use the trial of BC yet, but if you can, it'd only be for the two races. Better to try out the vanilla game first.

[another edit] Really? I though the BC trial did go past 60 -- good to know then. It at least lets you access JC and Outlands though, right?

He could be a belf if he got the BC trial right now. And it doesn't allow you to go past 60, I tried.

Honestly, this isn't really the time to get into WoW, Cataclysm improves on so much that it's almost unfair for the game to be judged in it's current state, everything just flows better in Cata and the game is much more engaging, these changes will be there no matter if you buy the expansion or not, the only thing you'll miss are the completely new zones (The ones that do not exist at all right now, the revamped zones will be available regardless of purchase) and 80-85 content, as well as Goblins and Worgen obviously.

Really though, if you want to get into WoW, Cataclysm is the time to do it.

What Urge says. I haven't played the beta, but by the looks of it. It is meant for new players to get into. Not saying that there is not going to be high level content/rewards. But just that there every thing from the early leveling areas in Azeroth are changing, new quests, new areas, updated areas, new races, new starting zones, easier flow between level zones. I.e. say you are about to finish the 20's. The level 30-35 zone is right next to the 20 zone, no more flying/walking to a far away zone.

Ah, they're giving an option to change the human form. I don't mind what I look like as a Worgen... but as a Roleplayer, I've already got a specific plan as to what kind of human form I want.

I rally have no intention of signing up for WoW. Im just bored with the games I have so I figured a good way to pass the time was with a free trial. But who knows, maybe Ill get addicted..... Anyway Ive chosen Norgannon as my world thing for now, I started as an undead and already accidentally destroyed a quest item  whoops. I do like the fact that I have no jaw, my bones are showing and I have a wicked hair cut though :P

Now seems as good a time as any to me, it's not like it's a bad game in its current form, and while you might get to enjoy the improvements of cataclysm now most of us won't get that content for quite some time.

Wonder when they will start up the special events that come before Cataclysm. The one for WotLK was fun.

When did they happen before Wrath and BC? I would think it'd be within the weeks before the release, but considering how big Cata is intended, once they've finished patching all the servers I'm hoping there'll be some little things here and there before that time. Rumbles in the Wetlands and Barrens, maybe an eruption or earthquake, something like that.

Yeah but that wont happen again, that was a part of the scorge invasion of the Lich King when WOTLK came out.
The events are always Xpac specific. In Vanilla, huge demon lords spawned in the cities. In BC, Scourge invasion. In WOTLK, it'll be the retaking of Gnomer, and a few other things.

I swore I read somewhere the Operation Gnomeregan won't begin until after cata because of the way they're starting off Gnomes now. I don't know but that's what I thought.

Anyways, update on my http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Dragonmaw&cn=Hanibalecter. Above 5K Gearscore now. Still need to replace my one trinket with the one from Heroic Forge of souls, and until I get a better dagger I still plan on going combat when I get Liar's Tongue from Heroic Halls of Reflection to pair with Quel'delar.

Holy Hit Rating Batman! You could easily drop that blue hit trinket and be fine methinks. I'm at like 13% on my Lock..I raided up to Sindragosa on 25 man in ICC last night and never missed once, but I don't even think that's the hit cap. 0.0

On another note, my WoW time just ran out, and I only have 20 bucks. :o Suggestions?

Yea, I know...I have relentlessly farmed ToC for the banner of victory to no avail. Stupidest ideal ever....make 2 bosses randomly spawn that share a loot table exactly the same but a few items. I am trying for Needle Encrusted Scorpion no luck so far. I also know I am drowning in hit rating, I will lose some of it with better gear, but I gad 2 blue trinkets and desperately needed that trink for GS as well as the AP buff on use.

If I recall correctly the melee hit cap is at around 8%. Not sure about spells and ranged, but I imagine they're pretty much the same.

Nah, it's not the same. Melee hit is 8%, but spell hit cap is 15%, which is around..400 hit. It svcks..but it's doable actually, caster gear is seemingly floating in hit.
