I started a dwarven hunter and I gotta say its pretty fun. I tried most of the intros and they all feel the same. I guess its just the location you wanna be in that matters.

And after not so many levels, you're tossed into pretty much the same areas as everyone else for leveling. So really, just pick what race you think looks the coolest.

Awesome, glad you're enjoying it. Just take it slow try not to rush, that can ruin it sometimes. RPing in WoW is pretty fun, if you're into that thing.

Yeah, pretty much. Although, you may want to take into consideration racials if you plan on actually playing past the trial. That matters to a lot of people.

I love the look of the Undead and the Taruen. The others are meh. I have an Undead rouge and a Taruen shaman but the shaman isn't that fun, I might change it to a warrior. As for playing past the trial, maybe, but at this point I can't afford it. Does anyone know what the weapon the guards carry is called and where I can get one, its a spear looking weapon with a cross bar near the head.

Undead are one of my favorites. I've been through that damn starter zone at least 20 times. I can run through it blindfolded at this point.

So pissed I had to stop playing. Yes, WoW is a video game but I expect people to know how to freaking play at level 80 in a heroic instance.

Here's the story, tell me if I was wrong.

Heroic Halls of Reflection, the instance I have been making sure to run every single day for the DPS sword from the chest on the ship. We start the group with a 6k gearscore disc priest. Priest was an extremely capable healer, we had 2 wipes on the ghost waves because the tank couldn't pick up targets fast enough and they killed the healer standing in the corner. We kill Falric and Marwynn no problem(Me with the highest boss DPS and damage done). We start the escape from Arthas with the ice walls. First wall no problem, second wall the same, third wall we have some problems with aggro on me and the other DPS and the healer. We get to the final wall, all hell, tank cannot keep aggro at all, healer dies. Healer leaves the party. We start with another healer. Same thing, last wall, no control DPS starts dropping. This happens 3 more times. Next one I die on the second ice wall because the tank who is a warrior wants to put Vigilance on the healer and not a DPS. He doesn't understand the healer was dieing before because he couldn't control the adds not because the healer was generating threat and pulling off of him. I die on the second ice wall because tricks of the trade is on cool down and feint only does so much. Healer leaves the party(starting to see a pattern) I try to vote kick the tank, doesn't work the other DPS is in his guild. He tells me on the run I was dead most of it they did better. I called him an Imbecile for not being able to hold aggro with a rogue feeding him threat with tricks of the trade. I get vote kicked. After this tank can't hold aggro for 6 wipes I get vote kicked...I bet the sword I needed dropped too.

Which guards? There are different types of guards and they have different equipment on. The guards in Kharanos? Or Ironforge? Could you give a name, I could just WoWhead it and find out very easily.
Also, most guards don't have equipment that people can use. It's usually NPC only gear.

-snip-

You have every right to be angry, but you have to understand something. As a Warrior myself, as my main, who has great gear, heroic Halls of Reflection is without a doubt the most difficult instance in the game to tank. Warriors have the very short end of the stick when it comes to AoE tanking, not to say they can't do it, but every other class, and I mean every other class, has at least twice the AoE tanking capabilities. It's very frustrating, and every time I get it, I refused to tank it, and if there is no one else in the group than can tank, I simply leave, because it aggravates me that much.
Second off, the tank should not have put Vig on a healer. He should have put it on the class with the best AoE dps in that situation, because the most mobs that the DPS attacks, the more threat he receives. Pretty logical.
All in all, I'd say he was just a bad tank, or not used to it. It's very hard keeping those mass waves of mobs off DPS and healers, especially as a warrior with very limited AoE tanking capabilities.

Camp Narache.

After doing a bit of research, the closest thing to what the Camp Narache guard carries, is a spear. I can't really tell if it's the exact model, but it sure looks http://www.wowhead.com/item=12989#same-model-as

I can do that with all of them, pretty soon I'll be able to do it with the Cata zones too :P

At 20, warriors can train for polearms (I think the weapons trainers in UC and Silvermoon do them). Good luck finding one though, they're pretty rare. Vendors sell at least one, but it doesn't have stats, and the ones that do have stats tend to favour hunters.

[edit] I'd never heard of http://www.wowwiki.com/Gargoyle%27s_Bite. World drop though, so even if someone manages to find one, it'll probably be obscenely expensive in the AH.

Hit 79 last night on my hunter, just mowing through the last level in Icecrown, what a pain in the ass. Levelling with a Hunter has been a relative pleasure compared to my Mage and Pally though, both of those were rather annoying to level at times. With the hunter I've just plowed through mobs, it's very efficient.

Been playing most of the morning and only at level 9. I now realize what they mean when they say this is the ultimate grinding game.

And drewbster, it's only like 10g each on the AH, it's a pretty common world drop. On Area 52 that is..might be different on some servers. Most people don't bother with weapons now with heirlooms, seeing as how any heirloom is leaps and bounds above anything else 1-60, so they just usually throw them on the AH to get rid of them. I usually just vendor blues I get.

Yeah, good point. I didn't realize it was that common of a drop though, I'm still used to rare drops being rare and expensive.

@Crypto: Gratz! I've been the exact opposite -- my mages and pally do the plowing, but my hunter really slowed down in Northrend. I think a lot of it has to do with losing interest in him. Still want him to be my first 80 though, just for sentimental reasons.

For the most part. I can see how this would be great with friends. Solo, its alright, the fact that I cannot take on more than one enemy at a time is annoying but not totally unexpected as a low level warrior. Do warriors get projectiles? Magic, guns or otherwise?

Warriors, for the most part, are a melee close combat class. You tank with a shield and 1 handed weapon at melee range, or you DPS with a 2 handed weapon, or two 1 handed weapons melee range. And, once you hit level 60, you can spec deep Fury to get Titans Grip, which lets you equip two 2 handed weapons at the same time.
You can use guns, bows, and crossbows, but those are really only used for stat sticks as a Warrior. A stat stick is just a slot that you equip that gives you beneficial stats from the item. Such as a gun or bow having +agility and attack power on it. You can use the ranged weapons, but it's not on a auto-shoot function like hunters, so you have to constantly hit "shoot" for it to fire, and at melee range you cannot use ranged weapons.
You get Heroic Throw, which is a higher level ability that throws your weapon (not permanently obviously) at the enemy causing high threat, and doing moderate damage.
Warriors also get shouts. Challenging Shout, which focuses all enemies to attack you. Demoralizing Shout, which reduces the attack power of all enemies around you. Commanding Shout, which increases your total HP, along with your raid/party members, for a short amount of time. And Battle Shout, which increases your attack power, along with your raid/party members, for a short amount of time.
All in all however, it's a melee only class. You have different charge abilities, or gap closers, to get closer to enemies though.

If you want a ranged class, nothing better than a Hunter. :) Or a Mage/Warlock if you like spellcasting.
Hunters are a ranged physical class with a pet. Mages are a ranged spell class without a pet. A Warlock is a ranged spell class with a pet.

How do I rearrange my action bar?

And where do I get a pet?
