Unofficial World of Warcraft Thread #10

Yeah, the hunter is right up my ally.

How do I rearrange my action bar?

And where do I get a pet?

What I do, is ESC to bring up the menu, then interface, then actionbars. You can put up to three more on the screen, but you won't need them because you won't be getting to any high levels. Still, make sure 'lock actionbars' is checked so you don't accidentily drag a skill off of it in combat. Now, hold shift and click the skills then drag them to a different slot, or off the screen to erase them. Click 'P' to bring up a list of skills.

You get your pet at level 10, there will be a quest for it.

Yeah, hit esc and go to the "interface" menu. From that, go to "action bars". You can click to lock or unlock the action bars, meaning you can move things around on it, or not.
And you can enable more action bars from that menu.

Ding 80, woop. I actually feel a little bit tired now but this is where the actual work begins. I have a few things to do now:

Gear up to a reasonable level (Anywhere between 4800-5000 GS)
Get a title, fancying Bloodsail Admiral
Get a nice flying mount, purple Gryphon svcks. I'm fed up of the stupid Red Dragon from CoS that I have on my other characters as well, might try and get the Oracle egg hatching one.
Need to level up my neglected Herbalism, thinking I'll stay in the random dungeon queue while I ride around like a fool picking flowers.

*sigh*

Oh and I actually have to learn how to effectively play this class with Survival spec at 80, it's quite a dramatic difference from the BM spec I've been using to level.

Heroic Halls of Reflection, the instance I have been making sure to run every single day for the DPS sword from the chest on the ship.

I have been running that on Kolia since it came out for the dps plate boots. I feel your pain. First you got to get a competent group. Then if they do drop the tank always rolls need and wins which they rarely do. It gets frustrating.

I would buy the Hellfrozen Bonegrinders on her if they weren't so expensive on that server. Not many raids let me in ICC either because of the ilevel 200 boots I have now.

Yeah there aren't a lot of them though. For the most part, the leveling process is solo. There are some quest however that require more than 3 people, like group quest, that have you kill a rather difficult elite. But those don't usually show up until level 50+.

So I should look for something to do to level a bit first.

Some quests do recommend grouping with one more more players, but I don't remember any quest with something like an ogre there. Closest I can think of is either one of the ogres around the burned caravan or up in the mine, or maybe one of those camps of gnolls (the little dog guys). Sometimes it's better to just wait a couple levels before trying a quest, or if there's some else questing nearby, ask them for help.

Do you have your pet yet? If not, that'll make a big difference. You can check your quest log too (press "L"), and check the colour of the quest -- if it's grey, it's below your level; green means it should be easy; yellow is right at your level; orange will be a challenge; and red means you'll probably die trying. Not always though, I've seen basic quests telling me to visit an NPC listed as red, when there's no apparent reason for it other than the whole quest chain would be difficult.

But hey, you're there :) Gratz!

They also usually don't require a group, at least not the BC and WotlK ones, my DK, Warrior and Hunter all soloed most of them easily.

Hey Urge, you got the Beta for cata right?
I know they changed the Night Elf starting zone but did they change the Draenei starting zone? What about the other race's?

That's a good question..although I don't see why they would need to change them considering those starting zones are the best so far.
But the Cataclysm effects everything so I'd imagine there are at least a few changes.

Did VoA 25 and ToC 25 today. Doing 7k DPS in my current gear. Happy with my DPS for now. Until I start to progress.

The quest in Durotar for retaking Echo Isles are keeping me entertained.

So apparently the pre Cata events just started on Live servers. Awesome, seeing as how my sub ended 3 days ago and I have no money to re activate it. Just awesome. :stare:

I was thinking of resubscribing to get one of those overcloaks from the event. But apparently from impressions so far, they actually changed them to white quality cloaks which you cannot wear over your current cloak.... I'm not gonna bother reactivating my account for that.

Have any idea how long it will last for?

I would love to help take back Gnomeregon.

Well for the Draenei since it's been sometime now since they crashed, if they are going to change it they'd probably have some things cleaned up a bit.

A guild mate told me it would most likely last until cata is released, but he isn't for sure.

As far as I know there have been no changes to the Dranei and Blood Elf starting zones, for the most part BC and WotlK will not be touched at all, with the exception of making Worgen and Goblin eligible for quests in those zones. All the other zones have been changed to some extent, Gnomes and Trolls have entirely new zones, the other zones have had minor changes to make them flow better and work more as tutorials, the human zone is a good example of that. The dwarf zone is almost completely the same, which is to say it's still awful, hopefully that changes.

I do know that the http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ay2ZepjL6Vk and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AU6_RkDlcVs intros were changed. I'm betting they changed the Draenei and Blood Elf areas around. Maybe not as much as the other zones but there will be some changes.
