The huntard population will suffer another blow when Cataclysm comes out. Our favorite punching bags will lose one of their best and most recognizable spells - Volley.

I also need a good PvP frost spec for Urkaz. I broke down and bought Dual Specialization finally. Could also use some decent 1-h melee weapons. Preferably ones that can be looted in 5 man heroic ICC/ToC dungeons.

Got my ele shammy to 80 a couple of days ago. Got 4-piece T9 so far, a nice staff and some PvP gear I bought with honor but I've been unlucky with drops up to this point. Currently working on Hodir rep for the shoulder enchant (dailies are boring!). Haven't gemmed or enchanted properly yet but I'm working on it

I'm already getting the itch to level another character to 80 before Cata. I now have DK and shaman 80s, but I have a 42 shadow priest, 47 boomkin and a 40 ret pala on the go as well. I really should gear up my shammy but I enjoy the leveling process and hate playing one character for too long.

Edit: hunters losing volley?? Wow. I really don't like what I'm hearing about hunters. The focus thing might be ok for PvE but it sounds terrible for PvP, and losing an AoE ability seems like another unnecessary change to the class.

Truthfully I'm the same way. That is until those characters hit the 70's. Pure torture then. I would say level the spriest. So far in Cata they look like the only ones not getting screwed over.

In that case, I get to avoid SMV and Netherstorm, both of which I hated anyway.

Thinking I'll start in Howling Fjord and then move on to Borean Tundra. I don't like the idea of moving on to Northrend prematurely, gets me paranoid about not having enough quests. Still, the random dungeon feature mixed with my heirloom items has made a big difference to my levelling. I was actually too high for Zones that I would normally have had to hit hard, in Zanga for example, didn't really need any of the Draenei floating city quests or the Sporeling quests, I was already good for moving on to Terrokar.

I have played World of Warcraft alot...really, alot...

I've played on and off from before the game was released in Europe. I have raided and ran dungeons to insanity, I have two characters on level 80 all decked out in epics.. I've quit twice because I got completely burned out on it.

This tuesday, I started playing again, and I find myself anomalously interested in playing. I love playing my different characters more than I expected.

Same here, especially when I have alts who can send the new toon much better gear. I used to have a thing against heirlooms, but got over it when I realized I'd been giving my own toons the same kind of gear. +12 Int Ley Staff FTW.

The starting zones are WAY easier too. My first troll mage died just about every time a scorpid looked at him, but recently I ran a new one through the zones, and was amazed at how simple the quests really were. When he was clearing out the Burning Blade dens, all these warriors and hunters kept running up to "save" him. They eventually gave up because they were the ones dying, not me, and my string of corpses was WAY longer than theirs :laugh:

On my first playthrough when WotLK came out I only had to quest in four zones before reaching 80. On a character with BoA's it only took 3. You will have plenty of quests left over.

I don't have an 80 yet so no heirlooms for me. Leveling my DK in Outland is dull, since I just finished doing pretty much every quest in Outland on my Warlock about a week ago....

Try a warlock. Though Trolls can't be warlocks, so maybe an Undead or Orc?

I've completely left my Pally and Shaman on the backburner til I see what Cata has to offer...which appears to be quite a bit.
In the meantime however I have decided to level my Arcane Mage, and then learned (on my server anyways) that Jewelcrafting is a pain to level, but oh so worth it after you hit 450, I'll probably blow my Pally's 100k gold out of the water before September is even half over. That should put me on all main realm characters at about a quarter of a million gold, I seriously couldn't be happier about a borked toon who turned out to be solid gold...literally.

I have heirlooms (which I didn't 100% want to get, but did anyways) which make the leveling process fly on by (no joke, I have taken my mage from mid 60's to 78 in less then a weeks time...with luck and a bit of quiet I can get 80 before this weekend ends. Cross your fingers for me.

By the way Cata testers: the hell is going on with trisifal glades? Seen the Youtube vid and it appears that Undercity has moved from a central location to a deep southern setting, is this a story element or something else?

On the other hand: Azshara looks badass and I can't wait to go back out into the new and improved "deadzone".

How about shaman? Troll casters can be shamans, mages, and priests; all three can be DPS, or you can switch to healing on a shammy or priest if you're in the mood for it. I haven't gotten an enhancement shaman very far yet, but wanted to because they look like a really fun class.

By the gear I meant, is cloth ok, do you prefer the look of mail or plate, any weapon preferences, like that. Shammy would be good there too, since they have a lot of options for what to use. Mage and priest, you're pretty much stuck with a staff and robes most the time.

...unless you're okay with that, then maybe try shadow priest.

Urge has the beta, so if he confirms it then it's probably new. Trolls don't really strike me as a Warlock kind of race/society; if they added that last minute, then I kinda hope they remove it again because it just doesn't seem a good match.

Trolls practice voodoo which is a form of dark magic, which is as good an explanation as Tauren paladins worshipping the Sun. Troll Warlocks makes sense just fine, there's no reason trolls shouldn't be Warlocks, especially not with the disagreements between the Trolls and Orcs going on. Besides, Trolls are evil creatures for the most part, the Darkspear are an exception to the rule and they are still not nice guys. They may not practice cannibalism like other tribes, but they still use voodoo.

I am 99% sure Trolls can be Warlocks, I can't confirm it right now because the Beta is broken and I can't get on it, but I know I've seen it.
