UNP Body Tips...I'm lost.

Post » Thu Jun 21, 2012 5:28 am

There are so many UNP Bodies ...and this face..and that armor...that I've got stuck !

Could someone list a very lore friendly set of Body + Faces + Clothes + Armors for mostly NPCs (Man and Women). :tops:

It would be great if they were already installed and working on a medium power machine (my VGA is a 4850  ).

and please...I don't like Top Model faces. :nono:

Thanks in advance for any tip.

:thanks:

The two main body mods for Skyrim are CBBE by Caliente and UNP by dimon99 and they are both very well done. There are many other great body mods, but these two are getting the most love as far as armor adaptations and skin customization. Generally speaking, CBBE (Calientes female body Big Bottom Edition) is a more curvy body, where UNP (UNPretend) is more slender, though each has variants that make it more or less curvy. Both CBBE and UNP come with there own working body skin and face skin textures. One other key difference is that UNP's texture UV map matches the UV of the vanilla (default) game body and CBBE has a different UV map. This means that with CBBE installed, you must get an armor re-placer to avoid bad skin issues in game and there are plenty of those to choose from.

Just to make one thing clear, if you have a body mod with, let say huge boobs, and you then put on armor that is not modeled to accommodate the mass, there will not be anything poking through. Armors (even skimpy ones) completely replace the body, so the only errors you might see in such a situation is that your character is less endowed, but more importantly the skin texture may not match. There may be odd looking skin if lets say an arm pit texture is painted where a thigh should be, or completely black patches where there should be skin. Leather armor, for example covers the chest abdomen and legs and only the arms are exposed. (think of heads hands and feet as a separate part and they are) There is no body underneath and the game applies skin texture only to the arms which are the only body part there.

You referenced UNP so I will go with that one and list a few armor and skin variants. No links provided since some may be inappropriate:

UNP Main and Skinny body with it's own skin by dimon99 (dimon99 also makes some custom armors)
UNP Female Armor replaces most if not all female armor and clothing in Skyrim by Exeter

More skin customization (require the UNP body mod installed):

CBBE Skin Texture V2 V3 Plus Thepal and UNP Compatible by Navetsea adds custom skin and normal maps that work with most, if not all bodies.
UNP Fitness Body - Also CBBE by SvarogNL adds muscular normal maps.
There are many more skins to choose from even sunburned.

More armor customization. I'll just list a few authors here since there are SO many:
Exeter main relacer and variants
KURESE individual custom sets
Brokefoot same
Lustrianna same
Backsteppo same
Gizmodian same
Fgem same
Neovinci same
Sydneyb same
Nightasy same
Anano same
Calyps armor sets and a whole body variant
There are many more excellent modders for this body.
*Some of the authors listed may be presenters of the mods rather than the actual creators. I mean no offense to anyone.

UNP Body (Mesh) variants:

UNPB (B for blessed) BBP= Better Body Physics. (Bounce) This is a variant of the UNP body with the potential for larger briasts as well as physics applied to them and was created by Calyps. Armors made for this body mod allow for the larger briasts and in some cases also bounce but any UNP armor should technically work.

*There are other UNP variants and one makes it more curvy like CBBE but I cannot for the life of me find it.

I hope this is helpful to you and didn't just make the waters more muddy. CBBE body has everything I just listed for UNP and exponentially more. Both are truly excellent and provide for different tastes. There are of course other body mods entirely, such as Rebirth which is very unique and well done; also ADEC Eyecandy Body by Acdale. There are more still, but I can't remember them all and each have skin and armor variants. As to the question about what your machine will run, all I can say is you will find out through trial and error. Best of luck.

That was not an explanation....that was a Bible ! :read:

Thank you very much ! :tops:

Now I'm sure I have a lot of work to do !

I just want some good-looking NPCs with compatible clothes for Skyrim atmosphere...without those over made-up faces.

But I didn't see Man body Mods in your list. That is not as important as Women body...but I want to keep a good balance. (and please...don't list me naked man bodies...it would be disgusting...yuck ! )

I don't personally use a male body replacer as i feel that vanilla is perfectly fine in that regard http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/2488 is a pretty comprehensive compendium of all things male.

Although by default the males are naked there is an optional file that you can download to make it so that they have the default underwear or even underwear of your choosing.
This mod also includes geonoxs maps for the face that tidy it up a bit and NoMoreBlockyFaces normal map to get rid of some artifacts if you aren't using the bethesda HD texture pack.

As for female body I use UNP and find it to fit my tastes quite well. Along with UNP I use the custom body and face texture http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/6554 with a few customization by me to get get rid of that irritating neck seam.
I find this to be one of the more "realistic" looking skin textures with a good amount of detail without making my character look like they are made out of plastic.

It all comes down to taste in the end and Khugan has given you a pretty fantastic rundown of most of what is out there so trying for yourself is always advisable.

I assume that links that point to content that requires a login to view advlt material are alright (the links in my post for example{i suppose if they remain untouched I have answered my own question})
