Unrelenting Force

Post » Sat Dec 10, 2011 2:46 am

Has anybody actually been able to kill something with it? Even with all three words, it barely does any damage, it's just fun to send people flying with it. The only thing that I ever killed with it(and I have no clue how I did it) was a saber tooth. It was charging at me, used all three words and it went flying back like 20 yards. Never I having killed something with Unrelenting Force before, I quickly ran up to it to kill it before it got back up, only to find the *search* option on its body. Needless to say, I was quite surprised. That is the only time I've managed to kill something with that shout.

You can kill things easily with it if you push them down a cliff...

Also, it's not supposed to do a lot of damage or kill things. I hope you don't think it is.

If it died it may have been from fall damage. I kill thinkgs all the time by blasting them off hills and cliffs.

Depending on how far they've flown and how far they've fallen below their original height, enemies do suffer varying degrees of damage.

A far enough fall will kill.

It's also useful for knocking them back into the kill zone of insta-kill traps. (The swinging gates, the log on a pully etc)

But I've killed plenty

I killed a Dragon once with it, it was really low on HP and about to breath fire at me so I FUSRODAH'd its face to protect myself but it killed it as well.

It was amazing.

It can kill at lv 3 on level ground too. I was in a fight with 3 bandits one of them I hit to very low health and he went to his knees. when I did the shout on the others he was sent flying too and died from it.

No, but I expected some amount of damage from a full "Fus roh duh!". It's still fun to use on a large group of enemies though.

I finally got Dah and have used the whole shout once. It helped save me in a final battle in a cave because there were about 4 draugr on me while Lydia and the Dremora Lord were fighting the other draugr and it pushed them all back. I barely survived but I was able to run and regain magicka and keep going. Great shout.

I sometimes use it to kill things in dungeons. It's fun to shoot monsters into traps or off ledges.

It's also fun to see how far you can throw people in cities. Too bad the huge bridge on the walls of Solitude has invisible walls on it. :(

It's main purpose is, of course, is to disrupt ornately decorated tables and furnishings in people's homes.

I found this too be one of the best shouts, If 3 or 4 enemies are running towards you, ( and you have the 3rd rank shout ) them ajority of the time 2 or so go flying and you have a few seconds to focus on one of the bad guys and cut him/her down, and also when your fighting bosses you can blast them into a corner and land plenty of attacks on them before they are back on 2 feet and able to block

I had a vindaloo last night... this morning my toilet experienced the true meaning of 'Unrelenting Force'.

Now back to the game in question.

Is this where it comes from in Skyrim? Has the dragon had Mammoth Vindaloo and the result is the phenomonen of 'Unrelenting Force' coming from the beasts posterior?

You can upgrade Shouts?
Wtf? Where?

I assume it's following the main story line 'cause I'm 40 hours in and my Unrelenting Force is a whisper that draugh's laugh at.

Unrelenting Force is not about damage, it is about CC (crowd control). It's amazing for Master difficulty.

So no, having it do a ton of damage with what it already does would be absurdly OP.

You upgrade shouts by unlocking the other words to them. Unrelenting Force's other words are unlocked by doing like the first two quests in the main story.
Spoiler
you unlock "roh" when you meet the Gray Beards and you unlock "Duh" when you finish the quest they give you right after that

The whole point of this shout is the pushing part.. not the damage.

I have many times, shouting them into a wall does damage and is sometimes a insta-kill.
