Morrowind had no dialogue, just a wikipedia of key words that every NPC in a town repeated. Oblivion had a barebones yes or no (sometimes not even a no) dialogue system, SKyrim has an emotional dialogue system which gives the appearance of more options, but probably hasn't really, but perception is everything, and it's the best so far.
lol yea I forgot I hadn't played vanilla Morrowind in awhile, I had a mod which got rid of alot of the generic dialogue (benefits of no voice-acting and goes to show how far mods can go), In any case I never looked at TES series for intense roleplaying with many dialogue options, was more about adventuring. Oblivion however was VERY barebones I agree Skyrim at least adds a slight appeal to some of the dialogue.
I think part of the problem is people are comparing vanilla Skyrim to a completely modded Oblivon which isn't fair at all, Compare Skyrim to vanilla un-patched no dlc Oblivion and then say which one is better. I can only imagine what will happen with Skyrim and there are a lot of things I want to do to the Dragon flying script, be a nice challenge. Adding more flying creatures would be awesome imo, hope Bethesda keeps their flying script and uses it with new games TES, Dragons or not. Skyrim has the best core game mechanics of all the Elder Scrolls games.
Plus I respect almost any game (bad or not) which at least supports their modders unlike my experience modding the Total War games (ugh).
