Unsure about getting Skyrim

Here is my sage advice. Close your web browser right now. Go buy Skyrim. Play for at least a week before coming back here. Than read these forums again. Ta ta!

I'd recommend you follow the PS3 tech forums on this game. Bethesda claims they'll fix the problems plaguing the PS3, but for now, I'm sure the game would be perfect if you stick under 60 hours total gameplay or so.

Ha ha 60 hours! I'm at 140 and haven't even toured the whole world, seen 3 of the major cities, finished the main story line, or hit 100 in anything but blacksmithing. I also still have a log full of unfinished quests waiting for me. Not sure how anyone could do much in 60 hours. This game is massively huge.

He's talking about the PS3 lag. The lagging and framerate dips usually start kicking in when you're around 60 hours into the game.

Hello gamesas forum posters

I'm in a bit of a predicament here. I'm going on a break for 2 weeks starting next weekend. I need a long game to last me a while because I'm going to be home a lot. I want to get Skyrim since I love Elder Scrolls games and it's really long, but I'm also unsure about getting it because of the issues that have been plaguing the PS3 platform. Can someone please tell me if I should buy the game? Are the issues that bad? I have an 80GB PS3 fat with 18GB free on my HDD. I plan on turning off autosave too so it doesn't lag up much. Are these problems THAT common, and will I be able to last until the patch comes out?

Help is much appreciated  thank you in advance!

As with any game, the current $60 price tag is an impatience tax. You can get it now (Which, while it has some balancing and technical problems, its still quite fun) or you can wait until its polished and sitting at a lower price.
