aha listen to him scream! might be pretty useful when resisting arrest to use guards as dragon fodder.

Worried about his voice, there. Doesn't sound too Nordic, and doesn't look too Imperial. Unless, of course, they've allowed different race respawning guards this time around.

Just worried that the majority of the guards aren't Nordic.

I'm half scottish, so I'm around the accent a lot.

Lets not forget - the game is produced in North America.

Expect the Yankee twang alot. (it disappoints me, being an Aussie) but hell - As long as the game plays as they say it does, and doesn't get uglier before release date, I don't give a rats ass if they've got a French accent. (....well maybe...)

If you listen closely on the "Noise-Free" Gamespot videos, after the Dragon dies, you can hear the guards cheer. "Nice one." "Got that monster". I thought that was pretty cool actually.

Cheer is probably the wrong word, they sort of just cautiously acknowledge the kill.

Banter requires two people. This is a humorously-timed taunt.

Nord culture is Nordic. It's based on Earth cultures, but not limited to any of the stereotypes present in real life. Including accents.
(this is my answer, but I am aware that this can also be seen as a way to work around things that don't match up quite right...such as accents)

Now that I think of it, why are we discussing this? It's a made up world, English shouldn't even be in it.

Funny you should say that, doesn't an Argonian in the Mages Guild in O.B ask you if your ' Just practicing your Cyrodilic'? So prehaps they aren't speaking English, the two just sound the same..?

Reminds me of the Simpsons where Kodos and Kang say they are speaking their own language, it just happens to sound exactly the same as English.

It's just a way of justifying why they speak that language. It's a good thing in my opinion :D

This.

I wouldn't actually mind if it was done with a more traditional Viking accent, I would actually prefer it. my point is, Scottish is how they've done it, and I don't hear any kind of accent. Worries me.
