Unused map areas

its all a storm in a teacup.

they would have started with a set map size, and populate it as needed for the game.

i dont see why they'd HAVE to use every square inch of it.

and spreading stuff out just so all the map is used just makes people walk around with less inbetween cities, and makes the dev's spend more time adding extra crap to the game to satisfy peoples curiosity rather than spending it improving things and making a great storyline

I don't understand why it's being so loudly defended by some, really. Even the person who posted this thread originally, I don't think they were saying they hated the game from it. It was more curiosity why they didn't end up using it. Because you could have stretched out locations or just left it off the map. But I wouldn't even call it an issue, it was just a curiosity come about by the frustration seeing a large area and wanting to go there and see more stuff. I've not heard anyone say it ruined the game or anything.

So my answer is, yes Mr. Scorpion...

Yeah I never said it ruined the game at all haha. Pretty much what you said. Plus I started the game thinking the whole map was going to be accessible like FO3.

The only thing that bothers me about the extra space is that I've wasted an inordinate amount of time exploring it in the hope of finding something and apart from graphical glitches and some stuff close to Nelis AFB, I've found nothing apart from the value of pressing Q.
