when the Crysis 2 demo came out, I found I required a gamesas account to play, so I created this one.
When I have received my copy of the game, I was able to login fine. Everything to do with the CD code was linked to this account.
Since the release, I have been unable to claim my limited edition promo code with this account (due to the 'you need to login...' error). Out of curiosity, today, I created a new account 'potatoface' linked to an older e-mail address of mine. On this account, the limited edition redeem page was working fine.
I then logged out of potatoface and back onto this account. Lo-and-behold the redeem code page was working on this account all of a sudden. Excited, I entered my promo code and was told the transaction was completed successfully. I checked and a transaction history showing the redemption was on this account.
here is where it starts to get wierd.
I logged onto Crysis 2 using this account and found no bonus content. Instead, the bonus content had been linked to the other account 'potatoface'. I checked the email I used for potatoface and there was a transaction receipt.
Also on the 'potatoface' redeem code page, there was a transaction history, showing the same details as the one on this account.
doing some further experimenting to try and resolve the issue, I changed the password for this account. This account now uses the new password to login, however I can only use my old password to login to the actual game.
This suggested to me that the two accounts were not 'synced', so I tried to use the new feature for bad logins (under 'edit profile') to link the 'potatoface' account the this account with the old password (which I figure would give me the limited edition content on the 'potatoface' account and the username of this account, effectively abandoning the game data currently on this account).
This didn't work as I continually received an error stating "'Segolia' contains invalid characters".
My question is:
---is anyone else here experiencing a similar issue?
---- if so, have you solved it?(and how did you solve it)
anyone willing to shed some light on the situation. Any help is greatly appreciated.
