Upcoming Demo Video

Post » Sun Sep 04, 2011 12:53 pm

Yeah, but now we get everything we've seen, plus a little more, with a clear-crowd free Todd voice-over all on a single 1080p video. I really want to see it.

I didn't really care whether or not they released it until you said that. :goodjob:

Basking in the glory of Skyrim isn't arguing with each other about when a video is going to come out. It seems more insulting than anything. Why not waste time actually talking about the game, instead of talking about a video of which release date is unknown? These threads are a waste of space. No one will gain any knowledge of this, and probably no satisfaction. It's like a bunch of 6 year olds arguing in a sandbox.

The threads allows people to post whatever they want to get off their chest to pass the time until the video comes out, even though it's going to have zero impact on when the video is coming out or what it's going to contain.

Just like this entire forum, really. :hehe:

It's good to see that someone here actually thinks, lol. And, I haven't been enrolled long, but I know how these forums work. I've definitely had my share of seeing repeated posts, etc. I've followed Skyrim closely since its announcement, so most of the topics these people are posting are nothing new, and it is sad. Although it's a discussion, I feel like carrying on one topic into 4 was never necessary, at least for something uncertain. You would think even with so much anticipation, people would use their head and not use rinse and repeat to keep it going. I think it should end, and just have an announcement in the main section. It would certainly help with all the clutter that is already on there. I mean, in the end it's no different than a topic like "This is what I think should happen" or "This is what I don't like." I didn't think I'd come to an official forum of Skyrim, and find kids bickering about what's not included, what isn't announced, isn't delivered, etc. That's why I found this to be disrespectful in the first place, along with those other threads.

Yeah, I couldn't imagine. I was happy to see the footage, but it was removed faster than I could breathe. I ended up sharing one video with the community, and it was immediately removed. The whole 'we don't want shaky cam footage' thing is understandable, but I think Bethesda wants to deliver it themselves, not have someone who doesn't have the right show it first. Well, they do have the right in a sense, but Bethesda wants first base. lol

I like the words you're sayin'.There are lots of seemingly younger people bickering around here, but it is still the official place to do such things.Where else should they do it?

As it has been said, most of us have covered or read every possible subject for a thread over the last year. Not much to do but argue or make repeat threads. If you look at peoples join date you can get some indication of the type of poster. Some have joined this year and racked up more posts than a 6 year member.A certain percentage of those got them from arguing everyday or posting one sentence or one word answers. My point is this, try to leave the infrequent posters or long time members be, because they probably have not hurt anyone so to speak. :P

For some of us this video will be the last thing we see before we get the game.Last bit of new info for us probably. So there is a bit of a buzz over it, myself included.I remember the F3 version of what we are about to see and am really looking forward to it.

Every day I keep hoping it will be released the next day.
It's never coming, is it?

Honestly Bethesda is not handling this very well. The reason there is buzz about leaked footage is because THEY'RE NOT GIVING US ANYTHING. Beth really need to take a leaf out of idSoft's book. There has been new high quality RAGE footage coming out regularly every month or two. Sure we got some character screen shots but is that it? Seriously?

Well they're certainly taking their time aren't they? Hopefully this means we'll get to see at least a little tidbit of something new

That's very optimistic.
I'm not sure they could give us anything that would make up for this wait.

@povuholo - Heeeey, there's been some good information released here, even in the past week, so it's not entirely true!

Yeah, I'm not saying they shouldn't, I'm just saying there's no point. I say watch a movie and play some games. Honestly, it makes the time go by soooo much faster! I'm one of those ones who like to see more positive vibes on such a wonderful game, instead of negative. I come to this community every day, so it's a chore. But some people really put a damper on things, when it's arguing and redundancy. It's hard to ignore, as I'm just as much svcked up into the Elder Scrolls Universe as everyone else, lol. I guess people get a kick out of it all though, so if it helps, it's whatever really. And, I'll definitely leave them be. I was trying to talk sense into them, but there's no getting around it. :twirl:

I want to see it quite bad as well, even if it is HD gameplay. I'm looking forward to it. I've seen all the gameplay that's been possible to see so far, so I don't want to ruin much of the game from here on out. The fresher it is, the better. But gosh.. It's so hard to not want to know new things! :sadvaultboy:

I think with The Elder Scrolls, the less you know the better for when it comes out. The less you know, the more immersion you'll have when you play it. But, it's the fact that we're so heavily focused on finding out new things that's making it hard to see that. I say I don't want to learn anything else or see anything else, but as soon as new footage is shown, I'll be all over it like a Mary on Jane. My metaphors and phrases are really lame as of late. :sadvaultboy:

I know what you mean; ignorance is bliss. We won't realize the damage we've done until we actually play the game.

Double poster.

I'm intrigued. What makes you think that 'knowing things' will suddenly make the world feel any less real?
On my third play-through of FO:NV, I was just as 'immersed' as the first.

 I totally called it. If they couldn't get a simple screenshot out that quick, how would they work out a 40 minute demo that fast?

They should've just stuck with the whole end of the summer thing.

Agreed. Also I would rather learn NOW what is not in the game then be disapointed when the game comes out...because that WOULD ruin my immersion.

Technically, it wasn't a double post. The second was a reply, so naturally his post was above my reply.

Well, just like with anyone, the experience we have with games can vary widely between each other. For myself and lots of other people, the more we know, the less special and surprising things we will find in the final product. I know myself personally, of course, and I know that if I had gone this entire time without checking one single thing, up until release, everything would be even more fresh and exciting. In Oblivion, I already knew what a lot of the armours were before it released, and had seen them. I still had that 'awe' effect when I seen how wonderful some of the armours were, but it wasn't as awe inducing as it would have been without seeing them.

But, this is not to say I'm not gonna be surprised and enjoy my experience quite greatly. I know I'm still going to find many, wonderful things. But, some of those things won't be as surprising to me, as I already know what they are.

Yea I will say that i'm honestly surprised how much media has been released for RAGE compared to Skyrim. Especially considering they are both launching within 5 weeks of eachother.

Gstaff (a Bethesda employee and community leader for these forums) posted in the last topic saying it should be next week, or the week after. They have to finish the video, run it through Legal etc.

What do you mean finish the video? There is nothing to finish just throw up exactly what was at quakecon, why is that so hard?

Exactly and with all due respect to idsoft, which game between rage and skyrim do you think will have the more content to discover. :toughninja:

Even though it's probably a much more linear/empty experience than skyrim, do you guys feel that rage was "spoiled" with all it's great videos?

I know that rage and skyrim will offer completely different experiences, I'm just saying that I'm as hyped as I could be for rage, regardless of the amount of info we received so far. I don't feel spoiled at all...

Because they're pros. This isn't just something solely for the fans, it's for advertizing the game, and they need to be professional about that.

How would you feel if they just kinda threw together the gameplay trailer with random shots of the devs playing the game? I find it to be much better with the epic music, the videos edited to follow it in a nice manner, the awesome voice over. It just all fits together so well. Now I don't expect this gameplay video to be as epic, but it still needs to be worked on for a long time to come out nice and professional.

I haven't been that interested in RAGE, so i've only seen the trailer and that Breaking Bad segment on Bethblog, but yea, I agree with what you're saying. On the other hand, Beth just wants lots of surprises left on 11.11.11, so I can't fault them for that.

At this point though, I really only see us getting this video, and one other sometime in October/early November before release.

see now why these threads keep going and repeating themselves?
by doing exactly what you were doing in your last few posts.
stating and discussing your opinion on the subject even though the outcome is already decided.

And now you have your answer
