I see your point but that's not the point.

The real issue is glitch prioritization. I can't see how prioritising these "beneficial exploits" that a few console players may use to marginally catch up with what PC gamers can achieve via the console, over gamebreaking progress halting issues, crashing and save corruption problems benefits anyone. How much more stable might ALL versions be if Bethesda stopped playing this stupid cat & mouse game with the dedicated few determined to cheat.

Look on Youtube. How many channels are reporting on which exploits still work after each patch? How quickly do new methods or techniques get discovered as old ones get patched out? Instantly or very quickly is the answer - as soon as the Dogmeat glitch was patched videos popped up about how it can still be done. Now there are videos showing how to remove the patch turning all Bethesda's efforts into "peeing in the wind", with the odd little inconvenience to ALL other players like the need to manually scrap shipments from the floor now.

And let's say Bethesda alter the saves to not work in 1.0.9 - well, then all the exploiters would just go back to 1.0.9 and use the most recent file that works, and will probably sit on that version forever until mod support arrives to replace the exploits. If these people haven't already bought the Season Pass, Bethesda may be pushing them out of the market, for example I just ignored all the DAI DLC since I'd have had to give up exploits to actually use them so I skipped them completely. Imagine if half the console players decided to stay on 1.0.9 that's a lot of lost revenue.

But hey, mod support comes later, meaning cheat mods - just enough to encourage people to update and get back in the loop, if they haven't moved on to a different game by that point due to being torn between a less stable 1.0.9 and an exploit free 1.4. If players aren't happy, they eventually just give up on the game entirely, leaving a bad taste that will remain when TES6 gets announced.

if i can build a assentryhandytronthingie and that counts as your 1 companion, costs the "lone wanderer" benefits and has 200 carrying capacity, i'd rather stick with the dog :-)

totally wouldn't be necessary, plenty ways to make acquiring ressources easier without that:

like, simply have a couple vendors with reasonable numbers of shipments of reasonable amounts of materials (like, 1x 50 wood per respawn?? seriously???), be it in hard to reach places so you'd have to do a little stg for it if it must...

or, much better, have quests that reward you with decent amounts of materials (would also have been a nice alternative for radiant minutemen quests, instead of the stupid defense quests), like, clear out some pre-war sawmill, get rewarded 5000 wood, stg like that...

really wouldn't have been THAT hard to get this into the game without "unlimited"

5000 wood for clearing out a sawmill?

I like it the way it is tbh. It feels like you are working for something or towards something in the game when you are out looking for stuff to scrap. Instant gratification would make this game boring pretty fast.

you'll play for the first time only once though, and maybe, in your game, you'll want to concentrate on settlement building (like i do in my 2nd one now), you can only spend so and so much time trodding endless overencumbered miles just so you can complete that friggin' roof before it gets tedious.

edit: 5000 wood btw would be enough for about a six-bed-shack in every settlement (rough guess), not much more (and now add up to that up with nothing but ridiculous 50piece shipments you can buy ~ once a week................................................)

edit2: and if that "5000 wood for clearing out a sawmill" (which were a random example anyway) wouldn't be shipments, but just the ressource, with weight, lying around, i guess you'd be punished enough by just having to transport it to your next settlement (but at least you'd know where to reliably get some) to feel you really really earned it, or not? :-)

The thing is, that can't and won't happen, and any time/money/effort Bethesda will have spent on this will all have been for nought if the end result is all the glitch-lovers retreat back to version 1.0.9 and stay there until the mods arrive. Presumably anyone still on the most recent patch wasn't planning on using the exploits or doesn't yet know of the reinstall trick. Those that would have never exploited won't put the game in a position where the fixes Bethesda put in place actually trigger - so what was the point again?

Yes. You chose a platform that limits your options. Besides, your acting as if pc users are not getting screwed all the time by consoles. From dlc release dates getting pushed back to user interfaces that would make EA shudder.

Finally, your acting as if they are giving pc users something extra. They are not. They are simply not cutting out code that microsoft/sony required. You have an issue? Take it up with them.

Well I'm gonna hold off from downloading the latest patch for as long as I can. Gonna keep checking youtube & only when I see there's a new dupe glitch will I download it. That's the beauty of this being an offline game! :)

I have a save that I use for my YT lets play that's legit without exploiting BUT the second save I made which primarily for my enjoyment I'd like the ability to duplicate stuff for the convenience for workshop building or whatever

Yeah I agree, this is why I've never bought shipments. Doesn't seem worth it at all.

I like your idea about tying radiant quests to resources, that'd be great.

Not about being salty, it's about bethesda screwing over the people who want to have more access to materials to build when PC players can laugh at the console users, call their version the master race and spawn in 20000 wood and steel to make it easier to do.

This post is very condescending from my point of view.

And as i just said on my last post some people want a avenue to have tons of mateirals to build without farming excessively to get them and as Pobatti pointed out on one of his replies on this page it's the lack of prioritizing what SHOULD BE PATCH IMMEDIATELY.

I don't really care either way about the whole patching the exploits BUT for some it is an issue and it's like Skyrim all over again with Bethesda choosing to prioritizing fixing the Oghma Infinium exploit but not the problems that cause quests being broken and issues with ashpiles or enemies not being cleared up. We have to manually not use spells(like Lightning) or pick up enemies weapons to put it back in their inventory so the game can properly clean up....otherwise we have save bloating because of memory leaks and poor coding.

PC users getting screwed? The only time they're getting screwed by bethesda is the xbox love affair that's going on with exclusive deals(which this time around hasn't happened for PC). The only ones getting screwed is Playstation 4 users with waiting a month for mods which won't change a damn thing for sales so no clue why this deal was made.

Sorry but your post is silly. PC gamers has access to the console commands(while for home consoles that is turned off) so when we get beneficial things that'll help us build at settlements easier and all of a sudden it's removed because bethesda can't prioritize whether to patch the game breaking issues currently happening in the game over a silly innocuous exploit that really only affects our conscious of "oh man i cheated hehe" that's where things get's over the line. Bethesda has always done this and why they do NOT get a pass in my book.

Also the last part of "they are simply not cutting out code that microsoft/sony required." is kinda like urinating in the wind when console users are GETTING MODS in 2 months which will allowing cheating.

So this does ABSOLUTELY nothing and if we've learned anything about bethesda titles it's this; IF PEOPLE WANT TO CHEAT, THEY ARE GOING TO FIND WAYS TO CHEAT!!

The dogmeat glitch still functional right now after 1.3 is proof of this and sadly bethesda has wasted time and money on something they could have used to fix the REAL issues in the game first.

Console codes are included with the PC version because they're generally required to test mods out as you're making them/ensuring they're stable. People really need to stop whinging that 'PC players are allowed to cheat' ... that's not why they're there. Also, they'd be in the console version too if Sony and Microsoft hadn't stipulated that they weren't to be accessed. Take it up with them.

Console users wouldn't be getting any mods at all if PC players didn't have access to the console codes in order to test mod stability.

Also: It was a glitch and wasn't working as intended; therefore it needed to be fixed. It was probably easier to fix than several other glitches ... So they fixed it. Stop crying about it and play the damn game.

There's one flaw in that:

Other peoples game is none of your business.

It's not like your FPS drops by 30 if someone else opens up the console or uses a glitch.

If i chose to play in godmode, sitting naked in front of my screen while reciting blasphemous lyric... IT WOULDN'T BE YOUR BUSINESS

If you want materials to build massive buildings in every settlement then you will have to wait and look for the materials. I have numerous settlements that are just baron cause i dont have the materials to build there. Do i want to build them up? Of course, but i cant afford too. What i do is go out and gather loot, play the game and gather loot etc, then once i have enough materials i slowly build up a settlement. Thats how the game is meant to be played? I am on a PC and i have never cheated to get materials or caps. If you dont put the effort into getting the materials to build up slowly, you dont deserve to build. Building requires effort in this game. Dont like it, dont play it.

Has this patch ruined anyone else's game? It has reset quite a few of my perks, even though they still show as being maxed. Uninstalling and reinstalling game hasn't helped, and neither has loading old saves. 700 hours and level 160 down the pan! Bethesda I am livid, you guys are ass.

You obviously haven't paid attention to other people. The point is to create items you need 1000s of materials and the shipments do NOT add that much materials and you can only buy 1 per 2-3 in game days.

And by the time you want to build what you to build with the materials you eventually get you'll forget the idea you had or you lose interest in doing it.

What you do with your game shouldn't mean everyone should follow suit. Some people have already put in 500 hours in game and just want to build only as finding the materials is mind-numbingly boring and takes far too long to build what YOU WANT that would look cool....mean awhile, PC users can simply enter a creation mode state(like minecraft) and have unlimited items to create fantastic settlements or just give themselves 20,000 materials cause they can. So instead of attacking console users with using methods to dup items go after PC gamers instead as they cheat far more than console users.

Reset perks: sniper, ninja, better criticals, rifleman, am missing 95% headshots at point blank range. To be honest 'quite a few' was probably OTT, but these perks maxed out are game-changers. Although don't know if anything else has changed, I had to turn the game off as I was so pissed.

Xbox One, if you have the game disk, just go into console options, select offline mode, uninstall the game, reinstall from disk, load up a prepatch save, dupe like crazy, save then exit. Next go back online and redownload the patch. Spent time the other day and now have 100k resources tucked away in crates.
