------------------------------------

Sooo, I'm still stuck with a bunch of quest items cluttering up the misc section of my pipboy. Seriously, try to find one particular note or holotape in there its a nightmare.

Also, there was a duplication glitch? I stopped bothering with settlements, having to go and defend them every 5 minutes was a immersion breaking ball ache. What they need my help for, they have turrets and tricked out combat rifles.

I noticed that you can move Fido now.

Fido is that ugly dead dog that lies in front of the bridge in Sanctuary that used to be "too heavy" to carry.

Also I'm not 100% sure if this is from 1.4, but clinics now tell you that they produce happiness.

I am having the same problem with the settlers. And cows inside the house, lol. And my companions ... they won't even follow me. They run off to some overpass near Monsignor Plaza!

It's alot better now. When I first got on all there was is a bunch of "screw Bethesda" "this game svck" "Why would you do something so stupid", but things are turning around, which is nice :)

Well, at least the freezing bugs on PS4 have been fixed. Also for those that duped and cheated their way trough the game, not shedding a single tear for you. Obiously it's the console players crying here, because on PC one doesn't need glitches to obtain whatever they need.

Fun thing you can check.

Compare the size of the engine (Fallout4.exe) at the 1.3 patch level to the same file at the 1.4 patch level.

There is no reason to make major changes to the engine for - any - DLC.

The engine runs the code - the DLC provides the assets.

This is why I made a save file with over 100,000 of each materiel stashed in boxes. since it became apparent that Beth is determined to remove all the "Fun" glitches. I begin to wonder if they are planning on trying to sell us the mods that let us console users cheat later.

I would have done that too if I would have known an update was coming and being downloaded and installed on my system.

I'm still seeing all kinds of weird behavior now since this update. I see someone said that the buttons not working isn't new, but in over 500 hours of gameplay that has never happened to me until now. And it's happening a lot. Half the time when I walk up on an enemy now I can't pull my weapon to shoot.

This is such a kick in the nuts. I'm just about ready to uninstall it and get rid of the game. I know this sounds overboard, but after what we went through with FO3, NV, and all the DLC on console this is just bringing back some really bad memories of the same old [censored] from Bethesda.

I sat down to play today. I am level 108 now, and did the main quest line. So I just do my 5 radiant institute quests. Then I moved guys from a settlement that had 35 people, to Sanctuary and the Castle. As part of the new move I wanted to set up a bar as a new merchant in Sanctuary. Then I tried the rug trick that allows you to fix collison on XB1. The rug thing worked, but my Bar wouldn't fit wouldn't go with it. Then I gave up and tried just building a structure around it. The bar would only sit level on pavement. It would even go through the wood floor. Keeping the pavement as it's level. Not accepting the wooden floor as it's floor. Eventually this led me to save and try to reload. I was running Groove snapped at the time to listen to some different music. And I thought maybe it was that. Well after I rebooted. Fallout came back up and would go through the start up only to boot me out back to the XB1 home. It did this 3 times. Then it just froze and crashed. I tried again and it crashed again.

It appears the new patch is applied, as I saw some new Raider/Mutant stuff in my workshop. I also noticed it showed add ons in the menu. I read I can't add new ones until probably next month.

I shut off my XB1 and rebooted. The game still crashed. I turned it off and then checked, found out the patch was up, and since I didn't see it download the patch. I thought I would check to see if it was still downloading. It is apparently done. As my XB1 has nothing qued for download. I notice if I hit the Xbox button, to get the quit option, that it is no longer there for Fallout, when it is crashing. It is still working for other titles.

I tried getting into other games and they are working fine on XB1.

So the new patch seems to have my XB1 doing nothing but crash. I can't play Fallout 4 now. Hopefully they address this quickly.

Where's the fun in using an exploit to get unlimited resources? I can see the argument that other things should've been a higher priority for them to fix, but I don't understand the outrage over this being removed.

Because after 800 hours of gameplay, the only thing left to do is go around building, and after those 800 hours going around scavenging the same places over and over and over again drives you insane.

It has become a HUGE part of Fallout because the possibilities are endless and it keeps the game going and fresh in ways no other 'settlement building' type game can. It's taken on it's own life aside from the game.

To do this to console users was a huge slap in the face. They could have waited until mods came out. It was a [censored] move on their part.

How does this work?

Oh when I came in there was 2 pages already so it just seemed pretty civil at that point lol B)

What you didn't state is that PC players has access to cheats to allow them, to get stuff. Mean awhile Console players get screwed every single game Bethesda makes.

Fair enough. I can't say I've put in anything like those kind of hours, but I can see why it would svck for people who've finished the game.

Now that I think about it, they probably removed it in preparation for Survival Mode. Exploits like this would definitely undermine Survival.

I'm aware at how big the file size is for the patches. If you noticed: 1.2 was http://gearnuke.com/fallout-4-patch-1-02-now-ps4-download-size-patch-notes-revealed/# and 1.3 was http://www.gottabemobile.com/2016/02/08/fallout-4-patch-1-3-release-date/ so the fact 1.4 ends up being 3x the size of it due to bug fixes, new items in the game, adding DLC support for the upcoming Automatron isn't out of the realms of not possible

Until you know much about how coding or patching works i'm not sure if you're well informed to make a claim that "it shouldn't be this big; Shouldn't have made big changes"

I completely agree with this. I dont get the outrage at Bethesda because they removed a cheat from the game. It wasnt intended to be there so they removed it. I never used that glitch and i build alot. If i run out of materials i just go do some stuff and slowly build up my materials by picking up all loot and scrapping.

If there was a glitch to get instant level ups, and they removed it, would you be annoyed then? ''Omg i now have to fight raiders to gain exp! what bullsh*t is this!, its a grind fest!''

My statement was that very little of the patch related to engine changes. I don't have access to the 1.3 executable Fallout4.exe, but I seriously doubt if the file size changed more than a couple of MBs. Everything else is asset changes, script changes, and data structures in the BA2's.

some people just like to have a way to work around aspects they don't find entertaining. that's it. quite as simple as that.

and since it's a single player game and it doesn't hurt me at all if they do it: why not?

it's none of my business what anybody else does with his own personal game...this is no competition.

what could i gain from others now enjoying their game less?

and us PC people still have every option to play god in our world, a power given directly by the people which chose to take the little bit console players had...

yes, it was a bug/glitch... and i like bugs to get fixed. but this was really lowest priority....

But isnt instant gratification boring? Like if you glitch all your materials and other stuff, there is no pleasure from the game in earning your buildings in your settlements, if that makes sense? Building settlements is meant to be a slow process. You are meant to start off small, and as you gain materials you slowly build up. Where is the fun in building every settlement massively, perfectly and instantly?

for you and me maybe.

but you can't say that for others. different people, different playstyles, different likings.

if someone likes building things, but collecting stuff not that much, how is this wrong?

if he/she want's to play this as "sims", that's ok.

if you'd watch me and my wife play FO4... two completely different games.
