I almost always use low level armor, because most of the high level stuff looks so bad.

A pirate does not simply get some random tank follower. Get someone that also looks pirate-ish, does not pass out after just a bottle of grog and share all your pirate booty with your followe. Yarrrrr

Don't ask me. Despite getting it on 11/11/11, I have only explored a small part of the game and the only follower I know of is Lydia and some weird mage in Solitude.

I guess your pirates worst enemies are archers? What are you going to do about them?
