Update on PlayStation 4 Mods for Skyrim Special Edition

It would have to be something that doesn't even have objectives displayed and it would be seriously hard to constrain such a quest to only setting stages via default scripts because there aren't always default scripts to cover every conceivable way to advance the stages. You also can't use dialogue to do so since Skyrim requires topic info fragments to do that. If this were Fallout 4, you'd have access to some limited means in the CK to set stages via a checkbox on dialogue which will allow for a bit more freedom.

Shroob is a member of the team, so he's simply relaying what's been said here: http://afkmods.iguanadons.net/index.php?/topic/4617-skyrim-sefallout-4-mods-on-ps4-are-back-sort-of/

There will be no USLEEP (or UFO4P for the Fallout 4 people) for PS4. It simply isn't feasible for the project to attempt to maintain such a fork.

Well, okay then. That's official. I guess that means the PS4 crowd will need to hope someone else steps up to the plate to create a fixpack for them. There's a lot that cannot be fixed without external assets but there is still quite a bit that can be fixed with just an esp. In the absence of USLEEP, I suspect there will be quite a few people offering various fixes to the PS4 folks. I'd be willing to fix a few things for the PS4 players, but I suspect someone with a lot more free time on their hands will beat me to it.

In my experience it is the opposite. Everyone will assume someone else is doing it.. So no one winds up doing it..

Assuming permission were given, how difficult would it be for someone such as myself to just take the unofficial patch, either the legendary one or the separate ones, whichever would be simpler to work with, and just delete everything that would require non-vanilla assets in TES5Edit, and then I upload that, like I said assuming permission were given?

I haven't played Skyrim in many months and have never used the legendary version of the patch so please forgive my ignorance if that is a stupid question. Though since I've no plans to even play the special edition or F4 any time soon, I've no system that could handle it and don't want them badly enough to spend so much of my meager income to upgrade to one, I suppose this is a moot question, but hypothetically, how difficult would that be?

That would be less than feasible, and certainly not desirable either. You'd be surprised just how much actually does rely on edited assets that the PS4 simply can't use.

Every single mesh and texture fix: Gone. Anything touching any script ever: Gone. You're then left with a shell of a patch that would be worth little more than just the placements and typos.

I don't really think it's a good idea in the end, but I suppose if someone knowledgeable enough REALLY wants to (and they're someone I'd trust to do so) then I suppose we'll see. Wait for something on PS4 to actually happen first though :P

It seems like there is more than just placement and typos that could be fixed without external assets. One of the biggest issues for console players is enemies unequipping weapons and shields when they die. Correct me if I am wrong, but I thought that could be fixed by changing the GMST for iDeathDropWeaponChance from 100 to 0, without the need for new scripts.

There are also bugs like atronach perk/stone absorbing your own summoning spells that should be fixable by just adding a "no absorb" flag to the summoning spells in the CK.

Those were the two single most annoying bugs for me when I was playing on console and those should both be fixable without external assets. Interior shadow striping is also fixable in the CK. Seems like there are many bugs besides placement and typos that are fixable in the CK without external assets.

SKYRIM MORNING HERALD

Special PS4 MOD Investigation

After months of speculation & uncertainty about PS4 MODS, our paper decided to investigate the matter deeper, we sent Reporter Sah deep deep undercover to uncover the truth

After getting the job as head of security at a secret high-tech facility called the PS4Pro and after weeks of investigating and pushing buttons that she maybe should of not have pushed in the first place.

The truth can finally be revealed as to why Sony did not want to go ahead with MODS.

Beloved reader please read on and make your own conclusions.

This one's name is Reporter Sah.

This one is deep undercover working for the PS4 MOD CORPORATION the largest and most powerful commercial entity in the world.

This one was head of security at a secret high-tech facility called the PS4Pro, a giant underground laboratory developing experimental MODS.

There was an incident, someone pushed a button, we can reveal that there identity still remains a big mystery and that all the security camera tapes have also gone missing.

A MOD escaped. A lot of people died. The trouble was, they didn't stay dead.

The computer that controlled the PS4Pro was a state-of-the-art artificial intelligence called the Dualshock4 Wireless Controller

The Dualshock4 Wireless Controller responded to the threat of the MOD outbreak in an extreme way.

It went homicidal. "You're all going to be deleted down here"

The Dualshock4 Wireless Controller attempted to delete everyone whether they were infected or not.

I managed to escape, but this was only the beginning.

The MOD outbreaks spread like wildfire, first across the Skyrim, then the Commonwealth.

The MODS didn't just bring the dead back to life. It mutated them in terrifying ways.

Despite the apocalypse they had created the PS4 MOD CORPORATION continued to experiment with the deadly MODS.

I was infected. But the MOD bonded with this one on a cellular level. I developed powers.

I became different. Powerful. Unstoppable. As this one got stronger, the race's of Tamriel became weaker.

I tried my best to lead what survivors I could find to safety, but we were pursued relentlessly.

Even my friend Serana was seized and brainwashed by the the PS4 MOD CORPORATION.

Bight & svck to kill.?
