Has anyone tried putting a mod on their weathered 10mm pistol? Does that huge exclamation point still pop up?

I thought I saw in another thread someone said yes, but don't quote me.

I am in US Central Time and got the patch but it's causing a system freeze every time I try to go into VATS. Very frustrating! (I've installed to the HD, I'm in Nipton.)

Most of the people that have this problem always seem to be in Nipton. Remove the patch by clearing the system cache, load up the game and travel to a different location, create a fresh save there, then download the patch again. I've seen this work for someone else.

Alternatively this may also fix it, as it did for Grassman, another poster, that you can refer to in the following thread:

"I had a similar issue, but resolved it by reloading my file, switching guns, hip firing, switching again then trying vats. It cleaned it right up. My issue WAS My xbox would freeze, then my character randomly die if I waited long enough (usually 10 mins). now everything works great. "

Man, this game just can't catch a break. A patch to fix bugs is causing a bug.

i just updated, then played the fly by me mission, i didn't encounter the save bug, and i did it exactly like i did the first time i received the bug, i can't gurantee if maybe i did something diffrent in this playthrough earlier which didn't allow the bug to manifest, but my current character, after finishing the fly by me quest, did not become corrupted.

Have you saved, turned off your Xbox, and then got back into the game? Make sure you picked up the suit too.

Hey, it worked! Thanks so much, Jerfer! If anyone else is having this problem in Nipton, do this! (To clear the XBox 360 cache, go to "System Preferences" and then "Memory" and then press Y while the HD is selected.. There should be an option to "Clear System Cache".

Yay!

Right. You probably won't be able to. The save games are probably lost. What we need to worry about now is making sure it doesn't happen again.

Sigh*....I guess, you guys are right. I just have never experienced anything like this before! It just blows my mind. Well...I guess I'll...start over again..*holds back tears*. Barnacles, man! This puts a damper on the journey blog I was doing! I am doing a blog documenting the travels of my character, through her eyes, of course, and this just throws a wrench into everything! *kicks a rock*
You see, I am a detailed person. So, my character was leveling up just fine, stats were nice and decent, weapons were decent enough...I mean, I was high rollin' like MC Hammer in the Mojave! My imaginary dune buggy had a license plate on it that would have said "Cold Chillin'", now with all this corruptness, it just says "Old Chilli" (Fresh Prince Of Bel Air Reference)!

Oh, well...I will just go a different route this time. I won't touch the story line just yet. However, if you all want to read what I have so far or are even interested at all, here ya go: "Into The Wasteland: Whitney's Journey"

Man...I was up ALL night, literally, trying to fix this problem. I am just blown away.....my gah! >_____<* *slaps forehead*

Well, so far since the patch I have had repeated freezing issues while using the wait screen. Also, my missing follower (Boone) has not shown up anywhere, and the missing NPCs I need to complete Raul's quest also have not shown up.

I'm returning my copy. Maybe I'll buy it again AFTER they fix all the quest/companion/game breaking bugs. I don't mind minor crap like occasional freezes or weird stuff, but the state this game is in is just unacceptable, and I furthermore feel that Bethesda/Obsidian's failure to disclose SPECIFICALLY what they are fixing is just evidence that they know they've screwed up BIG TIME and are maybe afraid to admit in public the extent of the problems with New Vegas.

My game is still crashing when I enter the strip :(

Bethesda pleese stop worrying about small fixes and fix the [censored] game-breaking bugs.

You can't fix a corrupted save file. You simply have to bend over, take one for the team, and start ALL over again.

For the come fly with me quest, does the save bug corrupt all files? because I want to test it with the new patch - i regularly create new saves without actually overriding any old ones and havent had any real glitches except the reloading lag on level action weapons.

As far as I am concerned, "Come Fly With Me" IS the bug initiator. It all starts from there when you finish the quest. I have bypassed that whole quest and *knocks on wood* everything has been smooth sailing for right now. So, if you play the game, by pass that whole quest. Don't even get it started. You can do that by arriving in Novac for the first time, head to Vargas's room, and DON'T TALK TO HIM! Just go to his computer in his room, read the note, and your mission to Boulder city will begin.

But, don't talk to ANYONE in town about the ghoul problem in Novac.

Wait one moment? Is this a second patch, or the one which hit our consoles yesterday? I've yet to play the game after reading about the bugs/glitches.

You are so welcome, Dav. The real credit goes to a fellow member on the forums. He posted that yesterday and so I just wanted to spread the word to everyone. So, I really hope everything stays smooth for you as well I am everyone else.
