Update 1.3 Woes and GSync Turdage

Firstly, congrats to Beth on a cracking game and until now, remarkably stable. Update 1.3 has [censored] in my face though. Everything has gone to pieces.

I'm a mod user, through Nexus, installing with Nexus mod manager. I run approx. 60 mods and until now I've not had a single issue. Not one CTD, generally plays well at 60FPS pretty stable.

I'm running quite a hefty rig, everything on ultra with new HBAO+ and PhysX gun plaps. Trouble is game crashes to desktop after around a minute or 2 of gaming.

I've trawled Nexus and plenty of people over there with similar gripes and many suggestions are to delete a mod named 'gore overhaul'. This actually worked, and extended my juicy gamie game time to around 30 mins. then the little bugger crashed again.

In addition, my indoor performance has gone down the poo pipe, loads of microstutter, which is really irritating and load times are excruciating. I literally walked away from the computer during an indoor to outdoor loading screen and ate a meal. I honestly thought the game had crashed.

Is the microstutter a gsync problem? I have this splendid technology you see, combined with 2 x NVidia GTX 980Ti's at 4K. Yes the drivers are up to date.

If there is no solution, fair enough, I'm parking this pile of clunge until a fixy fix patch is release and playing something else that works.

Bethesda, you can do better. Make me happy, fix this mung. Or release the GECK and let modders do it if you can't be assed.

I have had massive fps drops to below 10, prior to patch played all on ultra with not one issue. There are quite few people experiencing your problem too.

Hope they fix it soon.

First off if you used a mod then took it off and are still using the same game save then that can cause a whole host of problems in game, especially a gibbing mod pre CK. Try starting new game or a clean save if it can be done. Second on G-sync, I have it for 1080p and it works fine. 4k is in its early days and in terms of bottleneck via bandwidth on the gpu with this game engine! — even if it's sli 980ti's stutter in this generation of gpu's is inevitable, we're just not ready yet. Hell even operating systems aren't there yet for support for 4k as windows 10 is trash and people are having major problems with it. You adopt new tech too early you got to live with the consequences.

Go into the steam options, go to In Game, enable the FPS counter, check the check box High contrast color. That might fix your downclocking issues, also make sure in your nvidia global settings that your power saving is set to performance. You should start a new game with all mods disabled with doing what I suggested above, then play to see if it still crashes, if not, enable a mod, play some more, save, and then turn on another mod, this will help you pinpoint what is going on. Since you are on Gsync you will need to set the FPS limiter to 2 since you have a higher refresh rate display, you will also need to make that ini file read only so the game does not turn it back to 1. Then in the nvidia control panel/settings you will need to set your fps to 61 so the games physics/mechanics do not go crazy. Nvidia just released a driver hotfix today that you should also probably get.

Same issue here with the CTD. Have played the game 189 hours so far. ( Love it, probably a good thing this has happened. Now I can do some things I have been procrastinating about. ) 188.9 of those were problem free. Have not played more than ten minutes since the update that Steam pushed out on 2/1. It doesn't seem to be a time thing, but what I have noticed that I can load a game and when I get to the same spot it CTDs. I can load the game not more walk a way for a few minutes, come back and move to the same place and crash. I loaded the game again and fast traveled to a different location and walked around, now issue. Went to the insane asylum and was good until I tried to use the elevator. Is there an easy way to roll back the update?
