O.K. here is the story :-

I have been playing fallout 3 quite happily (apart from the known issue with regular crashing but I have learned to live with this) I recently purchased Bioshock 2 and installed it .. since this program put Microsoft Live on my machine Fallout 3 has decided to use it too .... (FO3 never installed Live itsself and I have been happily playing for the last few weeks) ...

Anyway .. since getting Live on my system I have lost all my previous saves (I take it thats cos it is now syncing with the server) also when I finishe my gameing session this mornign and saved it, it is in the same place I started this morning so has not taken my new save position but the pig that I am now having is that it has installed update 1.7 on my system (or shoulod I say LIVE has :S) and Fallout now refuses to acctually work at all ... I had it running in xp sp3 compatability mode to make the crashing issue a little stabler but I have put it back to native win 7 mode .. Sorry yeah I have win 7 64 bit with 8 gig of memory and loads of hdd space ... so basically Live has screwed up my enjoyment of this game .. anyone know anything I can try ?
