Hello, I realize I am a first time poster, and I am asking a question I probably already know the answer to, but I need some re-assurance from others tech-e-nerds to be sure (no offense to you suave tech-e-nerds, I come in peace)

Windows Vista 32-Bit Service Pack 2 OS
3GB Ram
286 GB HDD (320 With Vista on top)
12GB Backup/System speedup

So I'm hoping these two will get my PC ready to run Oblivion full out on my HD 1440X900 Monitor correct?
Is there a simmilarly priced card that would outperform this one? I need help here because I'm running out of ideas and I need to do this upgrade for under $150 USD.

As for install of these two, can't I just OPen my PC up, ground myself to some aluminum foil, remove the old PSU, and install the new one, hook everything back up, plug the graphics card into the PCI-E slot, all things wired back up, close up the case, plug , boot up and windows will do its thing? no need to re-install windows I hope?! Then install and run drivers to setup new graphics card?! and I'm ready?! Does a place like best buy or some other official chain take towers and complonents u buy off line and install them for you?




anyway, any suggestions on better graphicscards for cheap or psu's etc that will run oblivion full out will be helpful, thanks in advance, taking my tired ass to bed now!

Install it yourself, it really isn't that difficult.

Installation is simple, and you pretty much have it. There might be a bios setting you have to change, to get the machine to look at the PCIe slot before the onboard.... but, that shouldn't be hard either. If you have a screwdriver, thats all the tools you need. Don't pay someone else to do it for you.

I am switching to that card, nice pick, but will it be worth the 30 dollar difference long run?
DDR5 /really needed? That HIS Card was not bad or very far behind for 30 bucks less. "However with shipping my bill comes to 152.99.... shipped, So, well see,,,

The Radeon 5670 is about a 15% increase over the 4670, so it's a good card. There are cheaper brands:
