Uploading geck files

Post » Fri May 13, 2011 12:24 pm

I cant upload my esp plug in files onto my fallout game of the year edition..game, i might have downloaded the geck into the wrong place, also, how can i check where exactly i downloaded the game in my files? anyway, i put the geck download into something like ex "something/bethesda/fallout3". How do i know which file is correct? Also, i dont have a shortcut in my start menu or on my desktop, i have to take the disk out and put it back in to play, anyone know how to fix that problem too? If you can give me directions please give them like this ex "computer>data>blah>blah", im not really computer savvy so that would help alot. Sorry if how i wrote that was confusing, basically, how can i connect my geck files to the goty files? Thank you very much!

I don't mean to be rude, but why are you trying to make mods when you don't even have basic computer knowledge? This is something that anyone should be able to figure out right away. Go into that start button at the bottom left of your desktop, then go into Programs. Somewhere in there is a folder for the game, probably in the Bethesda folder. Open it and you'll find the game's launch icon there. Then just copy paste it to your desktop.

Well, once you find the icon for the game, just right click on it then select Properties. The screen that comes up will tell you where it is.

Also: to upload means to send a file from your computer to another computer, typically a server. Download means to transfer a file from another computer (again, usually a server) to your computer. What you're trying to do is called installing.

Using the proper terminology makes it easier for you to get the help you need.
