Upset with player housing

Post » Tue Jul 27, 2010 1:55 am

I was hoping for a player housing similar to Fallout 3's where you can customize your room with it's own theme. From what I understand the only player housing that is somewhat customizable is the Lucky 38 suite? And it's not really customizable, all u do is buy a few item upgrades for it. Or is there a customizable themed player housing I have not found yet? If not then hopefully a future DLC will include this option.

Anyway guess I'll just use the trashy motel room to store my items. :sadvaultboy:

I was disappointed by this too. I would have loved to have a house in Goodsprings after saving them.

I didn't care about the houses not having themes in this, I mean this is Fallout, not some DIY Channel show.

i was actually glad they didnt have "instant housing" like in FO3. this is supposed to be a desperate future with scarce resources. i was hiding my stuff in safes and nonrespawning containers and was happy as hell when i got the motel room and really happy when i got the safehouse. makes more sense.

Personally, I much preferred the Megaton house to the ones I've encountered in New Vegas. Not because of the themes, but because of the minimal load times and close proximity to every service you needed. I only once used the Tenpenny Tower, and very quickly got tired of all the loading and amount of travel necessary to prepare to go back out into the wasteland. I also have to agree with Grand Cookie that Goodsprings would have been a great location for this.

This, my issue however is how some arent practical, due to load screens, an not having work benches.
I like the luck 38 though, mainly because of the bar, I just wish we had houses room, because I like the view...

I would like themes, but I understand why they took some items out. Once you had My First Infirmary and the chemical bench it utterly trivialized parts of the game that should have been critical (radiation poisoning, crippling, ect). If they had My First Infirmary in FONV "Small Frame" would become "Free Agility Point" and radiation would be no big deal.

Well I decorated my trashy suite so that it looks pretty cozy. I also made a camp out of an abandoned farmhouse. In FO3 I lived in the Abandoned Tent andthe Victory Rifle Shack. You're housing is only limited to your imagination. I think I'd like to make the Jungle Vault 22 entrance a home for my tribal character.

Presidential suite? You can customize that to a certain extent. The terminal allows extra objects.

I heard the Lucky 38 was temporary (?) so that's why I haven't made that my home yet. I've been "living" in the abandoned shack outside of Goodsprings near the Memorial. I too wish they had housing like FO3 though.

I am thinking of firing up the GECK and opening up the sealed-off house in Novac, or making another sewer bunker like I did for FO3. Wonder if I can port the activator for a campfire to a stove...
