An urgent matter

SK is the best. SR sounds nothing like Skyrim, and the 'R' sound isn't pungent enough to make a good abbreviation. DF, MW, OB. The second letter is always stronger than the first. SK follows in line with that, SR does not.

Agreed. SK is a good, hard abbreviation. SR sounds a little snakey.

Arena - It's so badass it gets its full title

DF - Daggerfall

MW - Morrowind

OB - Oblivion

So following that general pattern, I support SkyRim, SR

This. SR just feels to me.

Then again, SK does sound better, and Oblivion did the same thing (OB).

So in the future, the Skyrim Script Extender will read as SKSE. :P

I usually just type out the names.
But going by "DF" and "MW", it might very well end up "SR".

I would say SR, seeing as Skyrim consists of two words.

SK, because when I hear people speaking of SR, i'm thinking of Saint's Row.

I agree with those who said SR. It makes the most sense in reality.

Or we could call it TESV, but Skyrim is a pretty awesome name so lets go with SR.

I think shockingly enough that I am just going to say and type the full words 'Skyrim' Instead of needlessly shortening it down. The only abbreviating I would use myself would be TES:V.

If we need an abbreviation, I say SK because those are my initials.

Or how about 'rim for Skyrim? Like 'nam for Vietnam :)

But I think a single S would be fine. like SMM for Skyrim Mod Manager or SSE for Skyrim Script Xtender.

Whenever someone types DF I think of Dwarf Fortress, but that doesn't stop me from using it. SK just isn't right; the only reason we use OB for OBlivion is because it's only one 'word'. SkyRim is two 'words' so it should therefore be SR.

True enough. It isn't that long. Although the modders will probably want to use an abbreviation.
Unless they could go the opposite route and always be like "Hearken users! Download ye the Skyrim Modificationsmanager programme and enable all of yon Elder Scrolls Master plugins henceforth!" and insist that everyone type out the full name or they don't get any tech support.

Not SK....

Morrowind = MW

Oblivion = OB

Skyrim = SR

More like Morrowind's abbreviation since, similarly, it is two words in one. Makes sense.

I like either ES: V or SK. SR just doesn't seem right.

This. SM calls too much for a naked Nord joke.

I think it has more to do with the number of syllables it represents. For instance, following "SK" we would have "DA," "MO," and "OB" for Daggerfall, Morrowind, and Oblivion. Both work for Oblivion. because the first letter forms a strong syllable on it's own.

So in short, I vote SR. SkyRim.
