Urine and feces

Post » Tue Feb 01, 2011 11:51 pm

The normal bowel functions of humans and animals include the need to expunge waste from their deepest insides. Should this detail be included in Skyrim? It might really add to the depth and feel of immersion to see Nordic dark-ages style toilets and sewage systems. It might also add to the gritty, dark, and brutal feel of the gameworld to have feces visibly smeared over some textures.

As a hunter I know how useful feces can be, but I vote no.

All I want is there to be some presence of waste disposal.

Is it that difficult to have a few outhouses behind the house or something? But none of that other stuff thank you.

My same response just like the idea of diabetes and high cholesterol. No. If you want that kind of experience, you should buy Duke Nukem Forever.

About the toilets;

They don't have plumbing, so I'm guessing they just use things like chamberpots or outhouses.
I'd kind of like to see a (not enter-able) outhouse and maybe a (clean) chamber pot around the houses.

It justs adds a little bit of realism, with out all the unwanted crap(pun intended).

Outhouses, chamber pots, and the like, sure. The rest? My first reaction is 'ew, gross' so was my second, come to think of it. I wouldn't particularly care if there was the odd pile of poop in a stable or the swirl of flies around an outhouse, but that's about where I'd draw the line.

No. Poop quests in WoW have made me despise the idea of fecal matter in a video game. I swear if theres even one poop quest in Skyrim i'm throwing my 360 out the window.

I'm fine with seeing the toilets and such, but I don't feel the need to see piles of poo laying around.

Immersion. Next thing you guys will want is some way to actually smell the urine and feces. :goodjob:

You know what else they would need to add if there were feces? Maybe contracting a negative to your personality if you step on some or have some on you and it stinks.

This is a shi**y post, and it really pi**es me off ....

(Just kidding! Hahahaha ... I couldn't resist!)

But on the serious side, why do these kinds of dirty topics need to be brought up at all? Someone (namely the OP) must have a fetish of some kind. Dude, leave it in your bedroom .... Incidently, with that name, what exactly are you .... shooting ? (Better yet, I don't want to know.)

The society in this game is thousands of years old. I'd find it hard to believe if they only have rudimentary systems for dealing with waste. For one the Imperial City had sewers. If they don't have toilets I'd expect some kind of system involving magic or alchemy. A civilization older than our civilizations in the real world only having pots or outhouses would seem very strange to me.
