Post » Fri Feb 18, 2011 9:29 pm

So far i've lost two profiles due to using a USB. I would like to know what has happened to you so far, please vote and post a reply about using a USB for your xbox profile!

Ever since they allowed using USB drives as storage I've had my profile on a 1GB stick. Even had a couple XBLA games on there when I went travelling. I have never had a problem, nor have I ever heard of anyone having a problem.

How do you loose a profile? I mean you get it back of Xbox Live. What am I not understanding here?

My first 10,000G profile went corrupt when i was playing Xbox at a friends house. I Don't have Xbox live unfortunately and i had to delete the profile.
My second profile just disappeared, I have no clue how, it was on my USB one day and gone the next!
Now i'm on my third....lets see what happens!

You're lucky it was just 10,000GS since that can easily be re-earned in an afternoon or two.

However, when I didn't have LIVE, I lost a profile with over 70,000GS on it, and I went berserk. Now, I have LIVE, so it isn't a problem anymore.

By the way, why don't you have LIVE? Is your internet not fast enough?

It's really simple when you play games that are nothing more than achievement boosters and/or cheat

Of course it's really sad when you think about it how much some people care about their epeen 360 achievement scores so much as to play Malibu Barbie games and cheat.

For all the good USB drives offer, I'd never trust them for my profile. Granted, I've got the older memory card-type setup, and I know you can put your profile on it, but I've seen enough thumbdrives glitch with file loss (even if the drive worked fine once it was corrected) to trust my ONLY copy of my profile to a USB drive. Use a USB drive to move your profile or keep a back up (if you're allowed to do that) but don't use it as the standard storage medium.

I have a bell internet hub and it is fast, but i have to pay extra when i use it more and xbox live uses way to many gigs
it'd be like a hundred dollars a month just for the internet. I live in the hills of canada!

That is like me as well. I only got to 4000 just recently because my young son loves getting achievements and does this on my account when he plays on my xbox. I don't care for achievements, but if it gives him fun, more power to him. :D

If you are online freqently (or all the time), I think your profile is backed up on Xbox Live (can't you recover a gamertag).

Indeed you can. The moment you get Live your account is recoverable from their servers, and updated (achievements, games played, etc.) every time you connect to Live.

Could the 360's have been modified, so there for they are not connected to the internet? Could a modified xbox cause this problem?
