Just started playing Skyrim on a PC, and I can't figure out how to use a sword and shield at the same time via a number shortcut. I added my best weapons to my favorites, and assigned numbers to them. This is working fine with two-handed weapons (bow, battleaxe, etc), but not when I want to hold different things in each hand and assign the same number to both. How can I assign the number 1 for example to both a sword and a shield, so that when I type "1" my character will arm himself with both sword and shield? I am able to get her to take up either sword or shield, but not both together.

That's strange. I equip sword and shield and hotkey the sword, when I hit the hotkey (1 for me) both come up.

You don't assign the number two both the shield and sword, just the sword. Before assigning the number make sure that you have both the shield and sword equipped and then assign the number to the sword. From that point on the shield will be equipped with the sword when you use the number quick key.

As long as it's the sword that has the number assigned to it you can have what ever in your off-hand and it will equip with the sword.

Or, you could get the More Hotkeys Please mod and have a single hotkey equip a whole set of equipment.

Whoa whoa this is going to sound noobie but I just got skyrim for the PC(been playing on PS3 for awhile), and I didnt even know you could hotkey weapons! I fiddled with the menu's and favorites for awhile but I couldnt figure it out, how do you hotkey weapons for instant swapping? Can you do it with spells too?
