But then I took an Axe to the neck!

So you are being led to your execution, death seems almost inevitable, the guardsman asks you kindly to rest your head on the chopping block, would you do it? Of course it worked out fine for Dovahkiin but you cant always rely on a dragon to crash the party and save your neck.

I'd of ran. Run like the wind bullseye.

Just run in a zig-zag motion and you'll be fine.

But then you couldn't run like the wind. Shortest path is a straight line; zig-zag means you need more time to make forward progress. They'd catch you on foot and chop off your head.

It's the choice between a quick, painless death, and a slow, agonizing exsanguination with an arrow in the back. I know which one I'd choose.

Go peacefully to my death when I am innocent, or try to make a break for it?

I know which I'd choose. It would backfire, but meh, so would going peacefully.

Yeah, I was looking around trying to figure out an escape route, thought I'd run to the left past the priest and around the wall when they called for me to approach the chopping block and my character started moving foward. I was like "Screw this stoic death nonsense, let me run" :D

Gonna die either way, may as well accept the inevitable.

If I were my Nord, I'd try to run. Archers aren't really that good.
If I were my Imperial, I'd yell to them that I was on my way to join the Imperial [censored] Army. What kind of a leader are you, Tullius?
If I were my Redguard, I'd do the same. I came all this way to kill those jackasses in blue armor, and now I'm to join them in death? Idiots!
If I were my Altmer... Well, when Hadvar asks me if I'm with the Thalmor I'm giving the chilliest look I can give, and nod. They would have to set me free, I'd go to the nearest Thalmor unit and tell what happened and have that idiot Legion Captain lady herself meet the headman's axe.
