Useless Items...

Post » Tue May 17, 2011 4:51 am

I know people really want to see useless items be given a use, so post how you would make one usefull.

CRYSTAL BALL: you find a crystal ball in a cave and you pack it away with your other seemingly useless junk, a little while later you recieve a quest, but you have no idea where you need to go to complete it, so you take out your crystal ball and a vision flashes through it, certain distinguishing landmarks perhaps? or a picture of your map with the spot marked?

Post your own... :read:

I was going to post this. Oh, how I long to violently throw forks and spoons at my enemies. I'll be the one they fear... In their tongue I am Dovahkiin! http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_Yo1DdrCIolo/TOXlZ2m5fBI/AAAAAAAAAI4/Iyp6a1kOsM4/s1600/Blue%2BRaja.jpg

Yes, but you couldn't move them or pick them up.

I rather like Sleign's idea of being able to grind bones into bonemeal for use in alchemy. And don't forget with the inclusion of being able to forge we very well could use them to create Bonemold armor!

Edit* @Vadersfist I had hoped someone would get my reference. Huzzah for the Mystery Men! I still have that movie on VHS.... That's right.

Edit2* noticed a typo... :ninja:

Ah pillow forts.....good times, good times.

I hated how all those items in OB had absolutely no value, my first time playing I was like: Really? It's worth nothing? NOTHING? What am I gonna do with all these dishes?!

Place Argonian and Human hearts on them? Oh and with a side of Human blood to drink?... That's what I did

Seriously, I would think plates would be worth SOMETHING. Weren't the silver ones worth a little bit?

Edit* @Vadersfist you sir, get +1 awesome.

I recently started playing dark messiah and realized that all the useless items in oblivion should be able to be hurled at an enemy.

I also like how they made it so your character physically picks up items. Rather than suspending them in the air. Adds to immersion

My pillow fort was glorious...just, glorious :touched:

I'd like to see you be able to write your own Journal notes, that'd be very handy.

This. I too recently picked it up. I also loved seeing my freaking legs! Oh and let's not forget being able to actually backstab people as a Assassin for instant kills! :ninja: Fantastic gameplay. Though the story is pretty terrible...

Heh, I collected Ordinator "heads" (helmets) and placed them all over the place as trophies.

Yeah the silver plates/forks etc were the only ones worth anything. None of the others though, there were countless other items that had zero value, too many to list.

Oh, in Morrowind I used Daedra hearts and some good ole ancient dagoth brandy :P

Hmm. Well, hopefully the junk in Skyrim will at least be worth one septim.

Edit* back on topic of doing things with these objects.

I wonder if oil lanterns and torches will set the ground on fire like how they say fire spells will? If so it would be interesting to shoot those out of a enemies hand, or one near him with an arrow and watch him go ablaze.

Or walking up to a troll and instead of pulling your weapon scaring him with the torch and then lighting him on fire. :flamethrower:

Filthy Ordinators always calling me scum whenever I walk by, I got my revenge. I think I had about thirty of them at one point.

Beheading would be AWESOME! I'd fill my house with bandit heads.
