fallout 3, rage and now this highly anticipated buggy mess. also Brink (?)

the only improvement in the upcoming patches that i see meant to attempt at fixing the poor performance of this game is for the ps3 version

another great game ruined by lazy developers, who once they have your money, couldnt care less about how the game runs for you or how broken it is

Skyrim - the best rpg yet one of the most disappointing game ever made.

What's RAGE and Brink got to do with anything?

I don't have any issues, and if I did I'd be used to them from Bethesda.

Their bugs don't influence my decision to buy future games, the actual content does.

I don't expect perfection. I do, however, expect improvement.

And Skyrim is a MAJOR improvement, technically wise, to Oblivion (at it's launch) and Fallout 3/New Vegas.

In my 200+ hours of Skyrim, I have not had one single crash. Oblivion was slow, prone to crashing and lots of other issues (even more broken quests than Skyrim) when it launched. Fallout 3 and New Vegas I can barely even play without it crashing or locking up, even now with all their patches.

im a TES fan and i will continue to buy it. unless it turns into a mmo ripoff or trying to be another game its not due to the new generation of gamers..
they already put more and more stuff in from fallout which worries me alot.

The engine is a ton better from Fallout 3, and a thousand times better than Oblivion. Could it be optimised further? Sure. But that's not going to happen without an engine re-write, which won't happen.

I've not encountered a single quest bug in 42 hours of playing. I've had a couple of CTDs and encountered a few other bugs sure, but they've generally been rather hilarious.

There's always going to be bugs in a game like this. And due to the nature of the game performance will be lower than other games, but it's a damn sight better than Oblivion in that department.

I'd still buy them because they're so good. Not having the bugs would improve the experience, but even with the bugs it's worth the money. I'd just probably have a (much) lower regard for Bethesda if they stopped fixing things.

Let's say not fixing bugs will make me more likely to judge their game not as favourably, but not outright not buy them.

I expect Bethesda's games to crash constantly, and I haven't been disappointed. Seriously, I would like improved QA at least in line with their contemporaries, but considering this is the way they've always been, I suspect it's unlikely. As long as it doesn't have FO3-style savegame corruption, I figure I can live with it, as irritating as it is.

Yes of course.

If I stopped buying games from every developer who didn't optimize their games for every platform or fix every bug I'd end up with no games.

I'd certainly like things to be fixed by Beth, but for better or worse they don't really have much competition right now, quality RPGs aren't released as often as FPS games and such.

Rage, brink, FONV...

Research much? None of those were made by Bethesda. But By 3 different development companies. Only iD is related to Bethesda as a sister company under ZeniMax Media group. FONV was made with Bethesda's FO engine modified.

In the end, Bethesda can hardly be blamed for the 3 games you mentioned.

"Probably."

Depends on what TES6 is. I'm not buying it if it has like guns or anime in it.

The problem is there are so few choice on PC nowadays, that you HAVE TO buy a Bethesda product, unless you can give up on gaming completely(at least to the extend of open world RPGs).

Pretty much depends on what other games will be out there when they release their next game.
Since they restriced themself to console hardware and controls I dont expect any major improvements in future titles, already did not expect much for Skyrim.
If there ever will be huge improvement in RPG′s they will come with PC MMORPG′s, not TES or Fallout, that is impossible due to technical reasons.

The game was not a disappointment for me, but to each their own I suppose.
Remember, don't generalize, not all pc gamers dislike the game, just because you dislike it
And no, if they spend 3 years on a game they are not [censored] lazy

I wont buy another one at launch most likely but I'll buy another Beth game "gold" edition or something that has been out for a while.

LMAO 30 to 3 yes. That just shows that to the vast majority of gamers, a few bugs wont ruin an otherwise epic game.

If it becomes less than I'm willing to pay for, and the PC version stops being better, then I'll stop buying.

At the moment, I'm willing to spend my money with them in the knowledge that, while the game is a blatant console port, it's still a good game and is still good on PC.

Besides, I can't think of a single Bethesda game which wasn't buggy; I was expecting an Oblivion/New Vegas in terms of bugs; I'm happy that what I got was nowhere near that.

Well, Beth games as many veterans know have had a long trail of bugs in its history. I don't think lazy is the word but unprofessional. Perhaps Todd is a softy and doesn't have an iron fist to penalized those employees that are slacking. Anyways, I will stop buying TES games the moment they stop shipping the CS(CK) and if TES becomes too arcady.

As long as Bethesda at least tries to repair their products, I will keep buying them. Or I will fix them my self and still buy from them! I'm a modder not a winer!

This poll needs an "it depends" option. As others have stated, it depends on how Bethesda handles (or ignores) the concerns of PC users. I don't think it's going to be an issue, personally.

It also depends on how epic the game is :) I won't ignore a truly epic, but playable game.

This. I would say "it depends" or "probably", but neither of the two options given.

This poll svcks.
