I think I've cured myself, but I got not message saying that I was cured when I drank it.

Go to the magic menu, and go to the tab furthest on the right (active effects) if you see its not there, then you're good...

Check your active effects. But you don't get notified on its cure. Don't worry though drinking that potion works because I've been infected with it quite a few times, but it's been way more than 3 days since my last infection and I'm still basking in the beautiful sun.
