Using the Creation Kit for Virtual Reality: Cutscenes?

Post » Sat May 31, 2014 6:14 pm

Hello,

My name is Benson. I'm a graduate student studying Clinical Psychology.

I am looking into game engines for use as the basis of a virtual environment for a research project, and was hoping the community here might be able to answer my questions:

I need to create a world that I can pair with smells. This will be done with hardware that I have, and is beyond the scope of my post here.

However, I need to be able to navigate the player though an environment from a first-person perspective while they are able to free-look. Is this something I could accomplish with the creation kit by way of a cutscene?

I don't know how cinematic sequences are handled in CK but I know this is something you can do since I've seen custom videos to preview different mods. Unless they simply toggled off clipping and manually flew the camera around and then assembled their footage.

If you have no luck I would recommend Unreal. Very robust cinematic tools.
