I honestly have never read that this is possible. Does anyone have a link? I'm pretty sure I've read every article under the sun, and this is the first time I've read we can put a one handed weapon in both hands. I know we can put two separate one handed weapons in both hands, but not one one handed weapon in two hands as the OP asks. So links if you've got em.

How are you not understanding this? Wielding a one-hander two-handed is not as good as using a two-hander in terms of damage, defense, or reach. It's already balanced. As for the link, I can't be bothered to. If you use Google (a skill beyond the ken of the OP, clearly) then you can find it yourself.

You can't be bothered? Or it doesn't exist? Never have I ever heard this, I'm calling you wrong on this one. Also, I'm not trying to be rude or anything, but I've "read" things that actually weren't there, and I made it up by thinking too much into it, and the. Spotted it as fact. Soon after I looked for a source, and when I realized there wasn't one I knew I had made an oopsy. Is that why you can't be bothered? Made an oopsy :) ?

Nothings been said about doing this, but my guess is no. I don't see a point to be honest, it kind of defeats having a two handed/one hand skill if you can use two hand on a one hand. Then they'd have to allow using a two handed with one hand, but less damage. If you want more damage, and want to sacrifice holding something in one hand to get it, then use two handed swords.

Actually, I disagree with you about wielding a two-hander with one hand. What if my character is a huge guy (the size of a Xivilai) who specializes in close combat with large weapons such as claymores? Even in real life, towering men with massive strength have been shown to use standard two-handed swords as a hand-and-a-half sword. The way I see it, wielding a two-handed weapon in one hand should be available as a high level perk that can only be obtained through certain requirements (i.e. close combat mastery, mostly warrior type, str, etc).

One source on the first damn page of my search. I believe the other sources we've seen are all in magazines, but I think Todd Howard confirmed this in a few interviews during the Utah press event. There's also this:

That's very clearly the same sword that the trailer dude was wielding with a shield. Doesn't look like a block animation either, but if it is then it's a very bad one because that's a terrible way to block a blow with your sword.

The only reference to weapons in that first link is a mention of being able to use a one handed weapon in both hands...dual-wielding.

I like it! One handers would be a little more powerful than normal but still not as powerful as a two hander. It seems perfect for sword wielding mages who need a little extra melee power.
