Using VATS with cowboy repeater bug

Post » Wed Sep 01, 2010 6:33 pm

Hi there,

When I use my Cowboy Repeater+ (all mods) and crouched in VATS, I can no longer change weapon, aim, enter VATS or use my Pip-boy.

If I hold the right-button (to aim, although it doesn't aim) and then tap the left button, my character doesn't shoot, but the controls seem to be re-enabled.

Also, when switching to a different ammo type, even though I only have 6 of that ammo type, my character keeps reloading forever until I switch back to the standard ammo (which I have loads of).

This has only occured since the last compulsory patch from Steam.

Exactly same here (XP SP3, NVidia 9800 GT 1Gb, 2GB ram)... before last patch this issue wasn't present

Yeah this gun is borked now, if i get to reload while in VATS my character becomes in limbo mode and does nothing i have to wait untill my companions (Boone and Ed-E) kill my oponents to unfreeze (everything is in slow motion and my character does not do anything) or i cant aim/reload or use my pip boy when i m not using vats or holster my gun unless i press the shoot button , really annoying if you ask me

Switching from coruching to standing and/or walking around seems sometime to unblock things... obviously, in a crowded gunfight in narrow spaces (caves), with enemies rushing towards you, this isn't exactly a smart move...

It seems that the powers that be, while trying to fix bugs, managed to create another one in the process.

Here's hoping they fix this rather large game breaking bug soon. I have died numerous times due to this problem.
