USPS Help

Post » Thu Oct 28, 2010 12:15 pm

Hey guys, I recently ordered an item off ebay from the U.S and it has been sent through USPS. I have been checking the USPS Track and Confirm page regularly and today it has come up with,
"We attempted to deliver your item in GREAT BRITAIN at 12:53 pm on March 02, 2011."
I assume this means it has been delivered to my house, but no one was around to collect it. With Royal Mail i would expect to now collect it from a local depot, but since this is a foreign postal service where will the package be sent now? On the USPS website it says,
"Items that originate in the United States and are found to be undeliverable in the destination country will generally be returned to the U.S. sender."
Does this mean my package will be sent back immediately? Because that would be a little annoying, if not where would i collect it from?

Thanks in advance.

Uh you mean the USPS actually deliver your mail.... That is like me expecting your country's mail service to actually have a guy over hear to personally deliver my mail...

Hmm, you make a good point. So what does the attempted delivery mean then if it's not directly to my house, unless it is delivered to a separate courier service who then pass it on here? The website isn't too helpful.

Ok I used the USPS track and confirm code and put in to Royal Mail and apparently the two are linked. It's changed it to a GB code and it's status is "Held". I assume this means it's at my local Royal Mail depot so i'll check that out.
Thanks for your help, i'm glad it's not being sent back just yet.
