Vahlok vs Miraak

Post » Sun May 18, 2014 4:56 pm

I wonder how the hell did Vahlok best Miraak in a duel. Miraak wasn't only DB, but he also had some valuable knowlage from Mora... Also, Miraak had killed dragons before, and I really doubt that the "Guardian" would be able to down dragons by himself. Something seems amiss... Is there any place someone could read more about this? In-game or on the Wiki? I can never find details on how the war happened. It's driving me crazy! lol

Miraak had Slaves, while Vahlok had loyal Followers. The Souless Husks outside the Temple of Miraak were likely the Dragons Miraak used to avoid being sent to the Dreamsleeve when Vahlok and His Allies forced Miraak into the Realm of Hermae-Mora.

AFAIK, Miraak didn't have the knowledge from HM yet. So at that point, it was just knowledge of the Thu'um.

It's a good job Hermaeus Mora pulled me into Apocrypha. Vahlok was strong, stronger than I ever thought possible. Our battle caused Solstheim to be torn apart from the mainland Skyrim.

Ok, so Vahlok had a better army of followers than Miraak? If that's so, then I could understand why Miraak lost.

How did one of such heroic caliber best the treacherous Traitor you ask? This, I believe I can answer. You see, Vahlok was no mere mortal even in his own right. Now I know, I know... I, merciful Hevnoraak, am but the epitome of virtue and mercy. But even I, most wise as I am, was not as valorous as Vahlok. Or as fearless. Vahlok was an inspiration to us all! And it is no wonder Overlord Alduin chose him as our protector, to track down the Traitor and bring thee to justice!

In his prime, Vahlok was a fierce wizard, fierce as any blood-thirsty warrior, and his righteous magic fueled by the love of his Overlord Alduin, imbued his mind with strength. His love for the benevolent Priesthood strengthened his will. His love for the common people, strengthened his heart. With these three things, he was Vahlok the Guardian. And with Alduin's blessing he led an army to track down the wicked Traitor. And track down the Traitor he did. He located the stronghold - the vile blasphemous temple built upon the bones of Alduin's children. Without fear, he led his brave men and women against the Traitor's corrupt, Daedra worshiping forces.

And Vahlok did meet the Traitor he did. And vicious battle was at hand. Vahlok's magic for the people, and Miraak's foul heathen magic of the demons, and blasphemous misuse of the holy voice which was gifted to him by Alduin, their battle sundered Solstheim from the mainland, for it was the clash of equal power to match gods themselves. And Vahlok in his infinite will-power never grew tired, never ran out of magicka, never ran out of hope. He outlasted and endured the Traitor's evil magic, and was finally the victor. But of course, the Traitor being a demon worshiping heathen had vile tricks up his sleeve, and was seemingly rescued by his devil lord.

And on that day, Vahlok was changed. You see, in his infinite valor, he did not accept this as a victory. He believed the Traitor would return to challenge Overlord Alduin! And with undying loyalty to Alduin, Vahlok swore to remain vigilant forever. Regrettably... his obsession would change even him, the unwavering. And now, 5,000 years later... he is but a fraction of the powerful hero he once was in mortality. But we shall remember him for his deeds, not his fate. For Vahlok was a better man, than even the benevolent Priesthood. And all good people to this day, strive to emulate his valor, his bravery, and his resolve. For he truly was, the epitome of mankind.

Krif voth ahkrin, zooriil ahrk hungaar Vahlok.
