Valenwood and Elsweyr OR Skyrim

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 5:39 am

If put together, Valenwood and Elsweyr have about the same land mass as Skyrim.

Would you rather play in the Nord homeland of Skyrim or in the homes of the Wood Elves and Khajiit?

Despite what I said in the last thread, I'd rather have one single province in a game and not two. The reason being that focusing on two completely different provinces at once will drastically reduce the quality of both provinces. I'd rather have one game dedicated to each province, than one game devoted to two provinces with reduced quality.

If Bethesda ever has the ability to make two provinces in one game without sacrificing quality, I'd like to see Summerset Isle and Valenwood.

But as for this poll, I voted for Skyrim.

Skyrim. I want to get a feel of the Nords' homeland. I'd rather just play one landmass too. Those cats aren't too interesting to me.

The race isn't all interesting, but their homeland is, so many different type of landscape it's just crazy, beside, I want to walk in a desert xD

I don't really care for Valenwood and Skyrim. But I really like the Khajiiti race, also, as I never really liked the Jerall Mountains area of Oblivion. Therefore, I would love to see a unique landscape of badlands, deserts, and southern rain forests. I mean, imagine hunting elephants and addexs, rather than boring wolves and bears. Also, I am a big fan of the Renrijra Krin, therefore joining a group in Elsweyr would be awesome.?

But, for Valenwood the options would be strange, considering their friggin' trees are always moving, seriously.

Edit: ALSO, new race avaliable for Elsweyr/Valenwood game, APEMEN. It's in lore people, look it up.

Elsweyr, cause Khajiits are much cooler than Nords in my opinion. Plus the landscape will be much more varied and interesting in Elsweyr than it could be in Skyrim.

We already had Solstheim... how much snow and viking mead-houses do you want?

And humans, puh... you can play a human homeland by playing Fallout, Modern Warfare, etc. :P

Elswyr all the way! Have you read all the stuff about Khajiit? They have pretty in-depth language developed, a lot of lore, and different "types" of Khajiit.
here's some bits of khajiit lore:

I'd love to see the Senche, Alfiq, Dagi, etc. :)

I don't understand the whole "We've seen it all in Solstheim!" argument. There's so much more than what we saw in Solstheim, and there was, what, one, maybe two Nord settlements in Solstheim? That's really not "enough Nords" to just eliminate Skyrim as a potentially interesting province.

While I don't discard Skyrim as an setting for TES 5, Elsweyr would be far more exotic and would probably feel more alien than Skyrim, and meh want Alien lands!

Skyrim ftw no doubt, nords are my favorite class to play plus why add two provinces and making a bad game instead of making one just like cyrodiil ? the game itself wouldnt be bad it just wouldnt flow as well as a game that had one main focus instead of valenwood or elsweyr

I'm sure I'll be happy with whatever I pre-order from them, but Valenwood holds my interest the most.

Skyrim. Can imagine it as more of a warmongering society with great castles and warlords. Elsweyr and Valenwood just trike me as ragged tribal nations with a few large settlements. Dunno, not a lore buff

Skyrim. And like many people have said, I rather they focus on one province for each game.

I'd prefer Elsweyr.

It's probably going to be Skyrim.

Not that it matters a hell of a lot. I'll likely just not play it, if it's Skyrim.

I'd prefer Skyrim, though I think that the important part is not which province they do, but that they do it well. With plenty of lore tied into the quests and so on.

It does not matter much to me, but I went with Elsweyr & Valenwood. It would be an interestingly drastic change from Cyrodilo and Morrowind.

If they do it right - Valenwood and Elsweyr could be the best in the series.

I have a huge feeling in my gut that they'll go with Skyrim.
Snow and Nords. That's never been done before.

I'd love to see the Senche, Alfiq, Dagi, etc. :)

They live in a desert that's all flat and sand. So you might find a camel, how much sand and heat do you want? We already had Redguard. We don't need a desert game.

Btw, it isn't really sand. It's kitty litter.

I'd like to see Elsweyr, but I'd rather keep the two provinces for separate games instead of combining them.

I would say Valenwood and Elsweyr, because Skyrim is too much like the Bloodmoon expansion for Morrowind, so we don't have to see more Nord lands.

You obviously are not even close to being up to date on what Skryim looks like. The outer edger, sure, are mostly snow. Once you go inland, it ends up looking more like Norway during the spring. Plus, the nordish culture is quite varied between each city. Also, mannish mythology needs to be explored some more. I am sick and tired of merrish mythology and its derivatives, like the Cyrodiilic religion of the Nine (yes, it is a merrish derivative, look up your history).

And what are you going to get with Elsweyr and Valenwood? Desert throughout the southern half of Elswyr (very flat and boring), and two endless forests, one made of bamboo and sugar canes and the other a typical dense forest. Skryim has more than that.

as much as i love Skyrim (and ya'll know I do), Valenwood and Elsweyr together win out on this one. Its a whole lot of completely unexplored territory and a lot of fun things can be done with it. However, endless forest and desert are really easy to make boring and generic.
