Valkyria Chronicles

Post » Fri Nov 14, 2014 3:16 am

So, this week Valkyria Chronicles was ported to Steam

while its a great game, and I shall be repurchasing it on Steam (since I already got it for my PS3) after I get paid for some PC repair I have been doing, I thought I would make a thread for people to discuss it

Interesting thing though, this Strategy game http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/138590-Valkyria-Chronicles-Tops-Steam-Charts-After-Release

I will be getting this game this weekend. I hear nothing but praise for it.

Been reading about AC: Unity, and yeah, what a joke that game has been. They even put an embargo on reviews for it during it's early release like the scum Ubisoft is. This is just another reason why I rank Ubisoft as the worst gaming company ever, beating EA on multiple levels.

I never got around to playing this, but it's definitely one game I've always meant to check out. I don't own my PS3 anymore, so I'm hoping Sony adds this to PlayStation Now. Actually, it might be part of the library, I'll check later.

Great game, one of my favorite PS3 exclusive games (well, until now ). I only hope SEGA do the same with the Yakuza series and bring it to PC too.

Around 40ish hours, more if you try to A rank everything without a guide, and even more if you try to get the extras, such as unlocking everyone's potential.

Took me around 80 hours doing everything, and that's with skipping all the cut scenes the second time around. )

I am hoping a Skies of Arcadia port is on its way.. it was made by the same people as VC (and three characters in VC, (Vyse Aika and the Medic) are actually Cameo characters that first appeared in Skies of Arcadia), and that Sonic racing game has Vyse and a level clearly based off SoA.. so it hasn't been fully forgotten

depends, some Levels are quite long, some require a bit of Trial and Error, depends if you plan to do the "Report" chapters, if your gonna try to make all Units max level, if you want to Finish your Weaponry list by buying everything from R&D, if you plan to unlock all the Orders, kill all enemy Ace's, A rank every mission, etc..

You know, we might be lucky since there have been a slight increase in porting console games to the PC, we shall see! :)

They ported some Dreamcast games to PC (and consoles) a few years ago, but appearantly they didn't sell that well so they stopped. Shame, I would have loved to see Skies of Arcadia and Shenmue 1&2 ported.

Yeah, Tomb Raider games have had cameos from Legacy of Kain, but bet my right arm they have forgotten. hopefully, SEGA doesn't pull an Eidos/Squeenix on those.
