Also, she meant asking the guy that healed Theseus if he needed any work done, but whatever :P

Have we come to an agreement about the currency 'issue'? I think it would be best if we only have one name for the coins (Gold) and instead have different values stamped on them (1,2,5,10,20,50,100). If we start giving them different names like Drakes and Septims I think it will be a bit confusing to keep up with.

I think that's the best way to think of it. The currency is Septims. The value of the coins doesn't need to be equal to the value of the material that goes into them, just like we do nowadays. 10 coins of 100 Septims each, would be all you need to buy a house.

We also don't need to assume they're made of gold. Gold can be a leftover word from simpler times that stuck and is now used interchangeably with Septims.

The only problem I see is for really cheap things that worth less than a Septim since there's no "cents" but we can always sell them in bulk.

The naming scheme I suggested was simply for the people saying "This wont fit because it's not lore compatible."

The terms Copper, Silver, and Gold could precede the word Septim or Drake (which would be equal to each other).

You also have to remember than in the old days you couldn't just stamp a number on a coin and give it that value. That only works when there's a "Gold" standard where each coin represents a set amount of a precious metal in a vault somewhere, and you can exchange it for said precious metal at anytime you want. What gave a coin it's value was what it was made of.

I think using a Copper, Silver, Gold system as a set of "Septims" or "Drakes" would work best. You could say "I handed him 100 coppers." or "I handed him 100 copper Septims," or "I handed him 100 copper drakes." Which would be the same as saying "I handed him 10 silver Drakes," and "I handed him 1 gold Septim/Drake."

That way we don't have to worry about getting Septim, Drake, and Gold mixed up. We just attach Copper, Silver, or Gold to Septim, Drake, or nothing.

By stamping I mean that the coins have both different numbers on them and different shapes and thickness.

And I don't think we should have them all made out of gold either. That is just the name the coins have in Skyrim, which in my opinion seems kinda lazy :P I sigh everytime I play a game where the currency is named 'Gold' xD

So do I haha

When a peasant asks for 1 gold I'm like "Damn man, you just need some bread, not a 5 star meal from the Gourmet!" :P

I don't understand his race, you need to be a bit more clear on that one..

As for his skill list, it looks like it's incomplete. In the background you talk about "martial arts". That is a skill, so it should be in the skill listing. As for spells, we aren't exactly limited to game-spells, so you can say he's a good healer of himself and others, as well as able to magically protect himself.

Finally, he is a warrior. Valton has problems giving enough action to warrior type characters as it is, without yet another one :D A guard job in Valton is a better job than a mercenary though, since that doesn't always need to involve battle. What were thinking of doing in Valton with your character?

I wonder when Alguidar will get married to a woman..

Because I just know she'll get tricked into sleeping with a cow by a daedric prince and give birth to an alguitaur..
Which Theseus will promptly slay, winning Jacqueline's love. Then they'll live happily ever after with lots of children.

Here's to a happy incoming marriage between Theseus and Jacqueline! :lmao:

What in the Oblivion are you talking about? Jacqueline and a cow? Alguitaurs roaming around?

Did Vincent reveal to you the whole Daedric plot? Is that it?

Just to clarify, the armor will stay at the forge while Alguidar and Jack will "advertise" it so to say. How you do it is up to you.

Notice how the thread got silent after that comment?

Awkward...

On an unrelated note; Is everyones favorite Bard/Innkeeper still around? Or shall i NPC a barman? Is young Tom still here IC?

From the Dawn of Dead OOC thread:

Well guys, I have decided that I need to stay off the forums until school is over (which is only a few weeks). I give you all permission to just finish this up as you see fit, and start the next RP thread. I apologize for this incompetence. Godspeed *tips hat*

So, it's temporary. We'll probably control the character in the meantime, right?

I think Tom should still be in there, unless Sparky fired him.

Cheers for the clear up, Smig. I just used the barman as an ignorant fellow, and didnt state whom he was. For all we know, he could have been a random Nord who wandered behind the bar for all Roymund knows!

Yeah, that's what I thought. I don't think Gorbad would be so stupid that he let two strangers walk out of his shop with their hands full of his expensive merchandice :P

From his PM:
"You can have Skarpi fall down some stairs and break his neck, or something."

So umm. I guess the bar-keeps position is back up for grabs... Once again.
