His parents were most likely killed by the Bandits who would often raid the Groups of Refugees,Or Possibly even the Forsworn, he grew up almost as a stray being fed by the other refugees but not exactly adopted in a permanent sense, as the refugee group parted as people found more permanent enclosings, Someone dropped the young kid off in Markarth where he was soon Taken in by an Elderly Priest of Talos.

He grew up in the City doing random tasks for Gold, and became known as a little errand boy in the City, The priest never asked for any money from the child but he would often place much of it in the Donation bin and also Bought thing to offer too Talos. The Boy learned spirtual instruction frome the priest and he encouraged others in the town to do the same, He took notes from the Court Wizard Calcelmo, Learned a Bit of smithing from Ghorza gra-Bagol,a bit of Alchemy from Bothela. He learned about Arkay from Verulus in the Hall of the dead and Studied in the Temple of Dibella, As an adolescant he was attracted to many of the Women in the city(namely Hroki) but never got up the nerve to pursue any type of romantic relationship. He grew greatly interested in the martial arts and learned a bit from Yngvar the Singer, Argis the Bulwark and Vorstag.

In recent Years with the Tensions rising in Skyrim, The Old priest was Arrested by the Aldmeri Dominion for Refusing to stop his "Heresy" of Preaching on Talo's Divinity.

When Garrett found out about this he Ran to the Jarl Demanding action, the Jarl said that his hand were tied, Enraged Garrett confronted the Thalmor, Drew his Sword and Demanded the priest released the Thalmor struck the sword out of his hand as electrocuted him to the Floor, the Markarth guards then arrested him, On his way to Cidhna Mine He broke free of the guards and ran out of the city.

He had to get as far away as possible.

Is that good enough?

Looks good to me, but then I am not a GM so my opinion doesn't matter :P
I have a question, though. His major flaw, what exactly is he inexperienced at?

Basically anything interesting you send to me. For the long, complicated, boring stuff, ask Gorbad.
That sounds about right.

The skill-section still doesn't show his talent of using a sword. I'm getting mixed signals here. He is a journeyman swordsman, who doesn't know how to use a sword? I'm also unsure what you mean with "Scholar" in the skill-section... What exactly can he do that those who don't have the skill of a scholar? And well, divines devotee isn't really a skill as much as it's part of the personality. As for his gear, he's basically carrying light armor, a shield and a sword? Is he skilled in the use of the shield? Can he move quickly in light-armor?

Just to make this character a bit more simple, the amulet of all divines isn't going to be worth over 9000 gold  It's basically going to be an amulet highly respected by priests and those who worship the divine, but to the rest it's just a normal gold amulet, at least when it comes to how interested of it they are. I'll write an example char-sheet based on the background you have there and the gear you use, instead of you writing another one:

Question: are there NPC's townspeople? Just to kinda fill in the void? Or is this a legit Bethesda town with 20 people living in it?
There's plenty of guards, but if you have a look at the other towns in Skyrim, 20 is about the amount there is. (not counting guards). For example Ivarstead has less than 20 and riften has, not counting the guards or a guild there, about 20 folks as well.

So where should Annika start out again? I was thinking about just starting when it gets to the morning...you know?
And she will probably send the horse back to Riften.
Well you could make an evening post where you tell what Annika has been up to all day. Perhaps you could even tell that annika already went to riften with the horse, during the day? (after roymund's visit of course). You could write what happened there now during the evening. But it's completely up to you if you don't want to do that. For example, you might want to offer the horse-returning job to someone else than Annika herself. (she's too busy in the shop or something).

@Mhund (Roymund): Damn, I completely forgot about the shaft! :P I'll have the smith see it as he cleans up the forge :D

Jeez your really giving me the third Degree

Scholar would basically mean a love of learning hell even the beginnings of a Philosopher perhaps, I guess i can see why that might not be considerd a skill.
And by Martial Arts I don't mean kung-fu or something like that, Martial arts is just a general term for skills useful in war though they certainly do involve unarmed combat as well.
As for his gear Weapons, armor etc. one of the Reasons I stated he was inexperianced is so i could eventually lean into a particular skill, most likely a melee orientated style of combat
And sense Guard posistion was opene I'd figure he'd arrive with the Ragged clothing and eventually get a Guard armor.

Well heres another go at it....

Well now it looks better. That's a sheet I can accept. It's clear to read and now everyone can easily see what kind of character Garrett is. Does he have a last name btw?
(You can start posting now, but I recommend reading through at least 1 or two pages of RP thread #4, as well as the re-cap in the beginning of RP thread #5 + the posts made in RP thread #5 before posting.) I'll add Garrett to the character-list. Welcome to Valton.

Edit: Is the "in guard armor" picture actually needed anymore? Since apparently you removed his sword and shield and armor from the items he's carrying?

I wonder how knowledgeable Itan-Ru is of the Hist.. I mean can he speak Jel? has he had his naming day?

It makes me a little confused what sounds like an orphan of Riften having a translated hyphenated name.

He's not very knowledgeable of the Hist. and there was some of his background that I didn't think of at the time that could still fit into his story without any massive plot holes on his part.
Spoiler
- His single mother was alive for some of his early years, before getting on the bad side of a local thug. He lived with her and his older brother until this happened, whereupon both survived on the streets, with help from the Argonian dockworkers, which is where his knowledge of the Hist and his people comes from. They gave him and his brother an unofficial naming day and gave them both some smuggled hist sap to commemorate the ceremony. (unofficial because there was no actual Hist tree to lick the sap from)

-shortly afterward, attempting to be more than just a beggar on the streets, he joined the temple and embraced their teachings. His brother's whereabouts are currently (and conveniently) unknown.

- thanks to the Dock workers, Itan-Ru has a limited knowledge of the Hist and his people, as well as speaking a bit of Jel, albeit with a terrible accent.

just a few things that occurred to me after writing him for a bit. and from some prodding from you, Daroska

EDIT: spoiler tags are things i'm not quite sure of at this point (lore-accuracy, what I want to do, etc.)

Welcome back Trixy. It's a shame you got eaten by zombies on a certain thread you might have heard of...
Or unless now I came back from the dead as 1 of the 7 zombie lords. Dead but still concious. WOAH!!! That's a good idea!!!

I'll start her in the morning because Annika doesn't seem much of a girl to go to a tavern, really.

Hmm, those numbers always seemed like game mechanics limitations to me. The Imperial City had 50 people in it in Oblivion. But small, Bethesda-city it is!

I always thought we had a few more NPC's to be honest, Dont we have a bunch of labourers working on the wall for the mine?
Personally, I feel we should have some NPC citizens around the hold, only half a dozen or so, just to fill up on numbers. They wouldnt fill roles which could be roleplayed, such as shopkeepers.

The way I seen it we have npcs that had been part of the building of Valton an now live there as normal people. No mercenaries or mages, etc. I don't think the guards would be too happy if they had to build every house in town :P

The builders might've left when the built Valton .

However, I think it's easier to just not mention any of these "other" NPCs roaming around. In the very first thread, there was specifically said only to be guards and a message service in Valton. Everything else is our characters. I think we should keep it that way as far as we can. The mystical building of Valton is the result of (years?) of building. That doens't mean those who built Valton stayed there; Instead, Valton is populated by our characters. We make the new hold. Our characters are the one living in it. It wasn't a city or a hold before our characters.

I feel like I'm late in coming to this but would there be a spot a for another character?
Yes there's plenty of room, but it depends on what kind of character you're making. Another warrior would just make thing unnecessarily complicated. Of the top of my head, works that no-one is currently doing would be... -. I can't think of anything. :o What I need you to do now is to not only post a character-sheet, but also come up with ideas as to what your character would do in Valton.

Before I start working on my CS I have a question, I know it says that someone claimed the Alchemist position in the OP but it also says that they haven't been active for a while (as far as I can tell), so have they been inactive for long enough for a new alchemist to move in and set up shop?

There's many alchemists. Not just one. For example Gavril's character is an alchemist. The priest is an alchemist. Valton has too many alchemists :D

How many active hunter characters do we have? Roymund and...?

We don't have any active miners for the mine. Could the Jarl need a personal bodyguard? A personal spy? Valton doesn't have any stables for travelers to keep their horses in.

Just throwing some job ideas out there.
