A thought: Is your character an animal friend, or an "evil" person? Meaning, would he be the kind of guy who might be part of an illegal underground arena where both men and mer are pitted against animals and eachother?

Appearance: Amphodil has a shaved head, he has a brown beard that hangs a little bit over his chin. and a dark black hand print tattoo on his left side of his face. His face is a lighter bluish, his face is a little bit worn from traveling. His voice sounds like the Dark Elves in Morrowind. He is very tall and lean. His chest also has many Televanni style tattoo's that cover it.

Background: Amphodil was born in Balmora, Morrowind. He is apart of the house Televanni. (Sorry if misspelled.) He came to Skyrim because of the destruction of Morrowind and now he travels trying to gain Dark Elves for his journey back to rebuild Morrowind. He journeys with his trusty dog Wyatt. He is currently looking for a wife to start a family, He also has 2 companions that he can summon and will once he buys a shop. Telvin a goblin, and Vermin his personal Scamp.

I see him as being more of the friend, and not someone who would be part of that.

Why would his character have to be 400 years old in order to teach basic magic? Not even the teachers at the college of winterhold are that old and they train highly advanced spells. I think 75 is a fine age for a basic mage to set up a shop and sell some basic magical scrolls and gems.

I was just wondering why you wont let the guy have a 400 year old Dunmer. I don't see how it harms the RP in anyway, so what's the problem with it?

Also, TWD26, Balmora is kind of...gone...and it has been for about 200 years. If you want your character to be an original refugee from Morrowind then you need to make him older.

Because if he's 400 years old, he should know a lot more than he does.

Edit: What do you mean by the class "Leader" in the char-sheet, TWD26?
"Knows many types of Restoration Spells, his specialty is Conjuration. He knows a fair amount of fire spells, and other elements for destruction."

Let's just say that this didn't help at all :D

That all depends on when he started studying. Age doesn't equal power.

Look at Varyn. Yes, he was once extremely powerful (he's a damn Mage-Lord after all), but now he'd be lucky if he could figure out how to light a candle. I honestly don't see the harm in it. It's his character, and unless his sheet some how harms the RP then I don't see why he can't be that old.

EDIT: There's also the matter of talent. He could know a ton about magicka, but not be able to cast the more taxing forms due to a small magicka pool or lack of talent for the higher level arts. It's a matter of theory, not power as I've stated before.

TDW26, try and put a heading on your posts stating your character's name, location, and the time of day (right now it's morning). It helps us organize the RP better.

Fair enough. Now just the spell-list.. "Many types of resotration spells.." Is very vague. I mean there's heal yourself and others, that's two types.. I think the less your character knows about healing, the better for the priest in valton, if ou know what I mean.

The only way I see that work is if Son's character hires your character or a new one you make, to help out with the horses. Didn't you mention that Erutáron wanted to hire someone? Or was it just a guard? I can't remember.

I did but that was a friend of mine and it would be someone I met in Whiterun that was disgruntled at her current stable

Character Sheet

Name: Cocius Gavanicus Jannus or simply, Gawain
Age: 29
Race: Nibenese father, Nordic/Breton mother
Gender:Male
Height: 5 feet 8 inches
Birthsign: The Warrior
Appearance: Gawain is about the size of your average Imperial, standing a little under six feet tall and fairly stout in musculature. Unlike the Colovian west, however, he has followed his father's roots and stuck to the Nibenese way of appearance. His skin, which is tanned from many days of outdoors labor, is also heavily tattooed in flowing, yet geometric designs. One tattoo in particular can be noticed regardless of what he wears, for it starts two inches above his left eye and separates into two lines which extend for another three inches below the eye. His hair is dark brown in color, about the same shade as the bark of the fir, pine, and other evergreens that make up most of the forests of Skyrim. Sticking to the Nibenese style, Gawain keeps it a medium length, letting it extend to his shoulders, but keeping it out of his eyes. Along with the tattoos, several scars mar his skin, but their stories are not notable.

Class: Dog breeder

Skills and known spells: Can calm creatures, perform some minor healing on himself and animals, and can also detect nearby animals. Gawain is also fairly adept at tracking and is skilled with the use of the war axe, while also being adequate with a short blade. His preferred method of combat is to dual wield two small axes, but will use whatever he has at hand, when the situation calls for it.

Clothing/armor: When the occasion calls for armor, Gawain dons an almost complete set of Leather armor. The only pieces missing are the shield, which he has no use for, and the helmet. In lieu of the typical leather helmet, Gawain uses a family heirloom that has been passed down through seven generations and has been cared for with the utmost care, for it is extremely rare. 'It' is a Dragonscale helmet. The family story says that Gawain's ancestor once saved the life of a master smith from a rival Nibenese hill tribe and to repay him, the smith disclosed to Gawain's ancestor the whereabouts of a full set of Dragonscale armor that had been buried with his mentor. Gawain's ancestor had set out with a few brothers and they had tackled the tomb and defeated several undead guardians, only to find that the helmet was all that was salvageable, for the rest of the suit was worn and far beyond repair. In general though, Gawain simply wears a belted, dark green tunic and dark brown pants with a cape made of the pelts of two snow wolves.

Weapons: Gawain has a certain affinity for axes, with war axes in particular, so those are his go-to weapons. When he knows that the fighting will be tough, he wields two Orcish War Axes that he had found in a cave when he was a younger man. However, those are rather impractical to carry around all the time, so instead, he carries two axes that he designed himself. They appear to be nothing more than shortened wood-cutting axes, but in reality, they are much more. They can still split wood with ease, but the heads of the axes have been lightened and the wood of the handles are denser than most, making them very well balanced. Carved into the bottom of each handle is the head of a wolf, which he carved himself. The breeder is quite deadly with them. He also has several other 'weapons' if you wish to call them such. His profession of dog breeding has given him several animals that are fearless, aggressive, and extremely protective. These dogs he keeps away from the rest of his animals, due to their nature. There is also a wolf pup that Gawain found on his journey to Valton, and he intends on keeping it and training it as well.

Miscellaneous items: A small satchel of jerky bits stays at his side, along with his coinpurse. He also owns miscellaneous cooking and eating utensils along with other everyday household items that stay in his wagon until he finds a house. Leashes and collars for all of his dogs are kept in a chest, along with blankets for them and his own bedroll.
Personality: Gawain's father was a rather eccentric warrior and son of the chief of a Nibenese tribe near the Corbolo River and Lake Poppad. This did a number of things to and for Gawain. Following in his father's footsteps, he became rather eccentric as well, and had a feeling of entitlement about many things, as did a lot of the Nibenese. However, this feeling of entitlement did not keep him from working for what he got, and so he became kind of an oxymoron, feeling as if he deserved something that he should not have to work for, but worked for it anyway. His mother, who was a Reachwoman, attempted to coax the entitlement out of him, along with civilizing him some more, but the young boy would immediately accuse her of being "too Colovian" and she would only shake her head and let out a sigh. However, as the years passed, Gawain lost some of his entitlement, but not his hard-working mentality. His love of tattoos and philosophy though, which were standard among Nibenese, never left, and while it may be odd for a Dog Breeder to discuss philosophy, it was common for him. Along with that, he did not lose the mindset that he was better than most other races, especially the Colovians, for whom he bore a special disdain.
Major flaw: This would more than likely be his personality, since it leads to him being rather anti-social and 'uppity.' He also seems to have a ceremony for everything, which most people feel gets old after a while.

Background: Coming from a Nibenese father, and a Reachwoman, Gawain has had some interesting cultural forces that played a part on his life. He was born to the equivalent of a Nibenese prince, and was therefore brought up as a Nibenese noble, regardless of how little power his family and title had outside of the small, yet very profitable village his tribe inhabited. His father had found his mother when they were both nearing the age of twenty, when his father had taken a few cousins to the Colovian Highlands, looking for adventure and had ended up slightly north in the northeast of Hammerfell, just south of its border with High Rock. It was love at first sight, he had been told. She had been the daughter of a retired adventurer and mage and so had known and learned a small bit of magic. It was that magic that she taught their son, Gawain. When he was around ten, his father became the head man in the village and gave Gawain his first dog. It was a purebred wolfhound from Skyrim named Forsta, and Gawain became immediately intrigued with the dog. As the years passed, he was taught how to fend for himself should it ever be needed, and also how to fight with a weapon. Originally, his favored weapons were two long knives, but when he traded them for axes one day, on a whim, they just flowed in his hands and he knew immediately that they were right. He had never much liked the shield, and his father had not used one either, nor had his father before him. In his position, it was necessary for Gawain to learn some diplomacy, since he would have to deal with other Nibenese "noble's" in the Basin and Valley, so it was that at the age of eighteen, he was fluent in the common tongue and the old tongue of the Nibenese, and could broker deals with the other "noble's" without breaking a sweat.

For a while, he lived the easy life of a prince, never wanting for much, sleeping with whatever woman he chose, besting his friends and the other men at arms in combat, drinking profusely, and amassing a pack of dogs that almost seemed to obey commands that he had not even spoken, for his love of dogs had never waned and Forsta had constantly stayed by his side. When he was twenty-six however, a smaller Nibenese tribe raided the village in the night, and had killed the majority of Gawain's family. Gawain had only survived because one of his newer dogs had run off and he and his pack had gone looking for it. Upon their return, they found the village burning and in ruins, with dead bodies scattering the streets. After several days of mourning, the young man had found a wagon and filled it with what was left of his possessions and some other miscellaneous items that he had found still in-tact in other homes before proceeding to hit the road and head north. He knew that his mother had come from the Reach, and so he figured that he would head there, but after reaching the southern edge of Skyrim, he heard rumors that a new hold was being established and settlers were encouraged. Gawain figured that it would be no worse than where he was already headed, and so it was that he came to Valton.

I like it. But you might not get much (mind the pun) action if Annika is bored half the time and she runs a general store.

I love it! Seem's like he will be a very interesting character. Nellis could use a pup if he had the money for it...... but that all depends on the price of the dog.

I like it. But you might not get much (mind the pun) action if Annika is bored half the time and she runs a general store.

True dat.

Oh, I think I could make something happen. And there's already some interest in people wanting/needing animals, so why not? As was mentioned, unlike a general transaction where money and the item can simply be exchanged and all parties go on their way, this can take place differently. Potential customer approaches with traits that s/he deems necessary for their dog to possess and then candidates are introduced to the customer with many different outcomes possible. Then the transaction, and then the instruction on how to care for the dog, etc.

Character sheets X2 below

Spoiler

Name: Avesta Breski

Age: 23

Race: Nord/Breton

Gender: Female

Height: 5 feet 6 inches

Birthsign: The Apprentice

Appearance: Avesta is an amelanistic albino nord, so her hair is white, her skin is extremely pale, and her Iris('s?) are clear, making them seemingly red. She has a soft , stout face and her hair is medium length and usually up in a ponytail, when she isn't wearing her hood.

Class (what would you describe your character as?): Master Cyromancer

Skills and known spells (if any): She knows all offensive frost spells, Stoneflesh, Magelight, Basic healing, Decent Enchanting. She also has basic training in fighting with a war-axe.

Clothing / armor: She has a set of hooded black mage's robes, Black gloves and Boots, as well as casual clothing. She also has an enchanted Fire-resistance necklace.

Weapons: A Frost-enchanted Iron war-axe called 'Permafrost'

Miscellaneous items: She has a very large collection of books and scrolls ( About 40 books and 30 scrolls ). She also collects frostbite venom. She buys flour often, because it can be used to stop bleeding (See flaws).

Personality: Avesta is outgoing and charismatic, but can be painfully blunt when pressed. She cares greatly about Black-Tail , and protects him with her life, though he doesn't realize it.

Major flaw: She has Haemophilia ( Where blood does not clot correctly, and a small cut can easily cause her to bleed out if not taken care of.), And is also afraid of large or deep bodies of water. She also has Photophobia (Where bright lights are painful to look at) due to her albinism.

Background: Avesta was born in Riften, to a middle-class family. Her mother, Coriana Breski, was a skilled Nord merchant and was much hated by the others in Riften. Her father was a Breton dockworker named Michael Breski.

Her childhood was very sheltered, and many physicians and alchemists examined her (Due to the rarity for a female to be both Haemophilic and Albino). When she went out around town without her parents, one of her father's friend's son, Black-Tail, was in charge of keeping her safe. This led to them developing a close relationship, which still persists even today.

When she was 7, she began to show a talent in magic. First, she only cast alteration spells, then she discovered enchanting. When she got into her teens, frost destruction spells became her major focus. Her magical affinity paired with her ablinism earned her the nickname, "The White Witch".

Her teen years where sorrowful. When she was 13, her mother was murdered at her own stall by a mysterious man (Assumed to be part of the Dark Brotherhood). Three years later, her father was found drowned in the canol. Avesta was sent to live with Black-Tail's family until she could support herself.

When she turned 18, she left to go to Cyrodiil and join the College of whispers. She did just that, and mastered Frost destruction spells there. Several years later, she traveled back to Riften. Hearing rumors of a new hold being built, she jumped at the chance to own her own home. Alongside her is Black-tail, her best friend, and together they travel to this new hold to start a new life.

Spoiler

Name: Black-Tail

Age: 25

Race: Argonian

Gender: Male

Height: 6 feet 2 inches

Birthsign: The Shadow

Appearance: Black-Tail is an oddity amongst Argonian colouring. His scales on his head, body, and limbs are all bright grey, with an almost metallic sheen. The scales at his lower back darken further down until the tail is completely black. His eyes are deep blue, and set above a long snout, from which four sharp teeth protrude from. The top of his head is bare but for two straight horns. Short spikes also line his brow. As far as Argonians go, he is extremely man-like. His body and limbs are shaped like those of humans and mer, his head, scales, and tail the only things defining him an argonian.

Class: He is a carpenter, dockworker, and a fisher.

Skills: He has deft hands, and is an excellent pickpocket and sneak. He is good at building things and likes to make everything he needs himself. In Riften, he worked for the fishery, so has skill in fishing as well.

Clothing/Armour: He owns a special-made black cap ( Basically a black fine hat with holes for his horns), and some pure black shoes, gloves, and coats. He also owns a pair of brown pants for construction, as well as a full set of black leather armor (for sneakyness).

Weapons:He has a woodcutting axe and four steel daggers. (He keeps two in sheaths and two in his boots)

Misc items: He has tools for building and an amethyst ring from his mother. He also has quite a bit of coin left from skooma dealing.

Personality: Black-Tail is compassionate and loving, forgiving and comedic, though he is extremely embarassed of his colouration. He is secretly in love with Avesta, though he refuses to admit it.

Flaws: His colouration embarasses him, and it is hard for him to sneak unless he covers all of his silver scales up. He is a former skooma addict, so he is tempted by it easily.

Background: His childhood was very uneventful. His family came from Black Marsh and settled in Riften before he was born. As a child and all through his teenage years, he watched over Avesta. When she left for Cyrodiil, he got a job for the Riften Fishery, as well as a job dealing skooma. Throughout the years, he delt and took large quantities of skooma, making him quite a bit of coin. When Avesta returned from Cyrodiil, he cleaned up his act as good as he could, and eagerly agreed to travel with her and live with her in the new hold.

Thank you! (I guess) I hope they where good enough. Didn't have much time to write them.
As for professions, Avesta could either train frost magic specifically or sell/lend books. Black-tail will have his hands full building things for the new house, but may look into another profession later.
do y'all think Avesta is too young to be a master at any magic? I mean, it's only one subclass of a school, and I think I have the power balanced with the haemophilia, but if anyone thinks she shouldnt be that good I guess I could tone her down a bit.
