Looks like Gorbad has decided to have a life tonight. Scandalous.

I'm gonna have to log off, so I'm afraid there won't be any Jarly action tonight. Tomorrow, for sure.

Good evening! I was wondering if I could possibly bring in an armorer? I see that there is already a smith, but the armorer would, obviously, specialize in weapons and armor. He would also be available to train citizens/guards in the basic use of weapons or more advanced use of one particular weapon. It's been a little while since I last roleplayed, but I do write fairly well, or so I like to think. For an example, I believe I have a link in my sig to a fan-fic that I started but never exactly finished. Anyway, thanks in advance!

I like the training idea, but it doesn't seem like most citzens would have the coin for it. If he makes weapons and armor, it's best to avoid that. Gorbad has it covered.

I'm not a GM or anything, just trying to give helpful advice. Or what some might say my two cents of it :P

I just read the information at the top of this thread and this RP looks to be like the Welcome to Grayditch RP over in the fallout section, which i was in for a time.

p.s. Should I read the earlier threads?
I think you should read the "current events" thing, and the latest RP thread's all posts. Preferably a few pages of the #5 RP-thread too. It's only best if you know as much as possible

The smith has the armor and weapons covered. Feel free to join with another type of character though, as long as it isn't already taken.

Name: Unidious, Amphodil (Goes By Amphodil)
Age: 34
Race: Dumner
Gender: Male
Height: 6'2
Birthsign: The Mage

Appearance: Amphodil has a shaved head, he has a brown beard and a dark black hand print tattoo on his left side of his face. His face is a lighter bluish, his face is a little bit worn from traveling. His voice sounds like the Dark Elves in Morrowind.

Class (what would you describe your character as?): Mage
Skills and known spells (if any): Healing, Conjuration, Destruction

Clothing / armor: Robes
Weapons: Staff, and a gold Sword
Miscellaneous items: carry's many books from Balmora.

Personality: Wise, kind, friendly, knowledgeable.
Major flaw: Stealth/Pick pocketing
Background: Amphodil was born in Balmora, Morrowind. He is apart of the house Televanni. (Sorry if misspelled.) He came to Skyrim because of the destruction of Morrowind and now he travels trying to gain Dark Elves for his journey back to rebuild Morrowind.
If this becomes a teacher (of the more common spells?), it would offer something unique to Valton that the other mages don't. (the others simply like lighting things on fire).

However, I have no idea what you mean with the major flaw part. Do you mean he's terrible at sneaking and picking pockets...? Or that he does that because he likes the feeling of danger, even though he knows it's wrong? As for the gold sword, the actual practicality of one is questionable.. Since gold is soft  Is it enchanted, or is there another reason why it has to be gold?

Also, about the age: We've got 250 year old dunmers running around Valton, plus a 1000+ years old dunmer, and your character is only 34 and counts as wise? I think at least 60 would fit better. Note: The age doesn't affect how your character looks, since he's a dunmer.

Also, about the spell-list: Could you be a bit more specific? Meaning, does he use lighting, fire or frost of destruction? Or does he know the basic of all of them? What kind of things can he summon with conjuration? Can he banish lesser deadra perhaps? The healing part doesn't need more specific detail though; only if you'd have written restoration there instead of healing. And the staff? Is it just a walking stick, or is it enchanted? With what?

Other than those few questions, char-sheet looks good. If you're to be a trainer, we might as well add that to the class as well? "Trainer in Magic". Note: If you sell magical items, don't sell potions. We've got that part covered already  Looks like this is the character to buy soul-gems from, and scrolls from, and learn basic magic from. Sounds good.

***

I might as well make the Writer an actual character with a sheet!
Spoiler

Name: Alfhed "Milk-Drinker" Meadow
Age: 18
Race: Nord
Gender: Male
Height: 5"11'
Birthsign: The Lady

Appearance: A typical young nordic youngling, but with much less muscle than most. He's slightly shorter than most nords. He has bright blond, short hair. He has a rather small nose, unlike other nords.

Class: The Jarl's writer and errand-boy.
Skills: Has a particulary good memory and is an able writer. He's a natural talent in math and problem solving. Would make for an excellent mage, but has never been interested in it. He was trained in the use of swords, but quickly got the nick-name "Milk Drinker", due to his lack of skill and strength.

Clothing: He wears a fine tunic of the same color the Jarl has, with the Valton symbol on the back. (two yellow axes that cross eachother, and a yellow sailors knot above them). Black boots and brown pants complete his outfit.
Weapons: Carries an iron dagger that has never seen action. Mostly used for opening letters.

Miscellaneous items: Pens and papers.
Personality: Tries to avoid conflict whenever possible, always eager to please and help.
Major flaw: He's weak and isn't fast either, making him terrible in a combat situation.

Background: His family knew the Jarl's family from a long time back during the Sparvhauke sailor years. It was almost a natural choice for young Alfhed to take up a job by Radwulf's side in the new hold.
What do you say mateys?

I liky like  Wow, all these people wanting to become guards. I think I'm going to hold a tournament to see who is best

and I have asked this before but got no response. Why don't we built an arena? The only arena in skyrim. It would be a goldmine!!

Because it's bloody and should be something illegal to keep it interesting. ;) The bad-guy mercenary group (RP'd by Tom) was thinking about setting up an underground arena. I'm completely OK with there being an arena, but I think it should be an illegal, underground operation.

I was thinking that the arena would be a fighting place for anything that moves. Sometimes man VS animal, sometimes man VS man, something animal vs animal. The whole process of getting the animals / NPC (/players?) would be a big operation on its own.

@Glass argonian: "Her?" I thought it was a damn big orc male bodyguard. The woman in the carriage disappeared during the attack..

oops! fixed it. thats the problem with posting things only a little bit before you go to bed :P

And Sae-Kas may just lend his talents for getting things in unnoticed towards such a worthwhile and profitable endeavor as an arena.

You could tie the animal wrangling to my char. Makes sense, ex-hunter and a bosmer. He can command them to the arena. Even have a training ground behind the stables. Gives me more to do plus if I bring my friend in to work the daily stable duties I will have the time. T

I don't think these animals would be trained behind the stables :P It would be underground for a reason :) I have no characters that could actually do something like that, so it's just an idea for anyone to use when they want to jump in. Or for those that wish to make a second character.

@SonOfSithis: I just don't see your character as such an evil person that would be involved in an underground, illegal, bloody fighting arena. (In any way, even as audience!)

Edit: Gavril, do you think I should make the writer a more "real" character by putting up a char-sheet for him in the original post?

You made a char-sheet for him so why not? the only problem that gives is that it takes a job away for other roleplayers to do. But that's not really a biggy. He is needed though, and if no one wants to take up that spot than I would just do it. The sheet looked good.

Although how awesome would it be if the writer of the jarl is infact the guy behind the underground arena?

Then I guess I am a little confused. Why does the arena have to be illegal? It has always, except in Skyrim, in all TES games and has always been legal. You're right my char is a good hearted guy so I will shy away from illegal activity. Ill stick to the stables and the carriage services. Btw so you all know, once the carriage service is up and running, I will go to any settlement, not just the major holds, for the right price that is.

Well.. In that case I'd let someone else make the writer. But the character I had in mind is just a young boy still trying to find his place in the world and experience as the Jarl's writer. So a completely different kind of writer would be needed if you want him to be the guy running the underground arena.

Edit: @Stoic Guardian: You could post a new post for your character again, trying to get him to Valton where everyone else is. :P

I don't want to RP the writer, but since he seems to be necessary once in a while I thought that if he's an actual character, it'd feel more real of sorts. I don't want to RP a writer who runs the underground arena either, that's actually a big role that someone else would have fun with.

(The writer as only a writer is an extremely small role in reality).
