Valton: The New Hold, Sign-Up and OOC Thread IV

Here's "What is that!'s" bandit leader char-sheet:

Wolfgar cut-throat.
37
Nord
Male
5'9
Birthsign: the steed.
Appearance: Blond, long viking like hair, Left eye been cut out. Scar on his throat, and left cheek. And like any Nord. Really muscular.
Class: Bandit leader.
Skills: Lockpicking, 1 handed, and light armor,
Armor: leather armor.
Weapons. A steel sword.
Items: A bag of gold and the lusty argonian maid.
Personality: Uflgar is a violent individual. Though he views himself as a hero for challenging the riften government many poeple see him as an evil person.
Major flaw: A drunkard, very greedy, and due to losing an eye, he can't see well.

Background: It is simple, he was born in Riften. His mother was a prosttute who died in child birth and his father was drunk and abusive. When he was 12 his father died drinking himself to death. He spent 2 years in the streets begging until he meet a kahjiit called R'zeer. R'zeer got him into the thieves guild and for 11 years served it well. However despite their promises of making the members rich he barely got enough money from the guild.

Wolfgar was left with no choice but to raid caravans. After taking some members from the guild the bandit group prospered from the gold from the caravans. After 7 years Wolfgar began to become more Gruesome. After every caravan raid he would kill every victim except for the young who might eventually become part of the group. When the bandits started to raid villages it became clear to the Jarl that Wolfgar is a threat.

When Wolfgar was 37 the riften guardsmen hunted the group down. They then attacked a fort which was Wolfgar's HQ. Barely escaping with a few other bandits they heard of a new hold..

His bandit group has 3 experienced bandits, 2 recruits and Wolfgar himself.

Ok. I guess you could for your own reason ignore what Danus is saying next to you. The barkeep gives Danus useless information about you. So Danus then leaves the inn to do something that would waste his time. And maybe you'll then hear about him doing something of interest in the hold. Ofcourse i'm not the GM so do what you want.

No! Don't leave the inn! It's RP etiquette to wait for a response from who you are talking to, and that's why I did not reply to your post, as I was waiting on Vincent to post. I'm going to have it in my post that Nellis hears his own name, then come up and meet Danus.

Don't worry I will stay in the inn.

@"What is that!"
Please don't make the group bigger with recruits, it'll disturb the balance if the bandits become too big. As for waiting, I think it'd be better if you attacked the carriage dude who took the farmer to Valton (who is currently on his way back to riften). He isn't an important character, so he's a perfect target. Your group needs to be known, so attack it, have a horse flee into Valton with an arrow struck in its side and let things roll from there, instead of waiting and recruiting. :)

Welcome back.

Now I hope you don't mind if we have the discussion here in OOC thread first, because otherwise it could potentially be yet another weeks dialogue up there in the tower :D

no probs :) If it's up to me the discussion is pretty much over :) Daikanos will not change his orders and any trouble you guys put yourselfs into is yours to fix :) his men are ordered to scout the mine but don't disturb any monsters or beasts in there. rats and wolves are not counted with the monsters/beasts, He knows they can be easily taken down.

Welcome back Gavril.

Fiona is ...probably going to just leave the boys too it. I'm too busy to Rp anything but the essential right now. Should return to full capacity in a week or so, mind. Gorbad has been an absolute star so far GMing things. Looks like I've got a lot to catch up on already!

Note that from Elairan's point of view - and as a mercenary he's done his chare of supply raids and caravan looting - that raid is fairly screwed up : te horse nd cart are worth more significantly more than the food it's holding. Which means that shooting at the horse is a fairly stupid move. Shooting an arrow at the farmer while he was helping the 'wound' to his feet is'nt exactly smart either : unles you have a damn good archer, you might as well hurt your own guy.

The atack paint Wolfgar's merry band as the sort of guys who are into banditry as much (if not more) for the power rush from murder as for the loot.

Well Wofgar if you looked into his past Wolfgar has kill every victim except for the young who he just puts them into the group. And he is also believed by many people to be physcotic and blood thirsty...

Didn't see that - it's fitting for his background, but it' amounts to painting a target on his back. Bhaving like a rbid dog leads peoples to put you down like one.

On a sidenote, if he gets the women killed immediately, that's likely to cause issues amongst his band - corpses are no fun and brothels aren't exactly common in the woods. No point in going graphic there (and it would be against the forum's rules.),, but somehting to keep in mind.

That is true. Maybe at some point someone in the group convinces him to take some women as brothels. Though of course I won't post any comments of them doing you know what with a bandit. Maybe they could get liberated when the Jarl finds out where he lives.

Hey guys.
In my last post, I used some horse terms. "barrel" is the horse's side, and "Palomino" is a horse with a golden coat coloring, and a white mane and tail. If you already knew this good for you. Also, I posted a tiny bit into the future, like thirty minutes. Dunno if that would be ok or not but I really wanted to help the horse when it got to Valton.

One of the guards will blankly refuse that order, the one who hasn't spoken much at all.

@"What is that!" I was kind of thinking it would've been an accident to hit the horse, but oh well. As for any long-time term problems a bandit group might encounter, we don't need to worry about that. The bandit group isn't supposed to be around more than is necessary. It's a way to get the mercenary-type characters to find some action. :)

feel free to do that :) It's not because Daikanos gave them these orders that they'll have to follow them, he :) Although he'll probably get a good punishment afterwards :)

My orc was kind of behind-time so that explains why he didn't see or hear the horse-event, it hadn't happened yet when he walked through the town.

I'd just like to point out that, like Gorbad, Smig is also a star. When they stand next to each-other you get some kind of simple, but awesome constellation. You guys are gonna love the in-game Valton we've got coming up for us

Can't wait to be able to give my full time to this thing again.
