Valve did it...

If they did this they better be free or the mod creators better be getting compensated.

Yeah, if something like this happened it would either have to be free, or the creator get's heavy royalties.

Todd wants it, but does M$ or Sony?

http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/109378-Bethesda-Wants-Skyrim-Mods-on-Consoles

I have no idea how a PS3 or 360 could handle Oblivion Graphics extender or any of Ren's Hair geeze any of the mid to low poly armor on Tes Nexus , go figure a high poly one , but if Todd says is possible well lol Skyrim will be the best looking game ever i can't wait to see the hair of the npc! :spotted owl:

Really guys i have a PS3 and a 360 if they are going to release mods for them they sould make a different Contruction Set , a limited one with no .Nif import/modification options , no texture replacing , well we would have to use just what is in there with some kind of meter to tell us when we have added enough stuff to blow up our consoles. :shakehead:

Take a look at TES Nexus see the mods there look at the hairstyles and the armor/weapons and tell me that a console can run it over the game. With a different and limited construction set it would be a different story. This is just my opinion :violin:

This isn't really fair. Thanks to Steam, Gabe has become God-Emperor of the Universe, so he can say he wants hardcoe pormography with a terrorist subplot released as a G rated film, and it'll happen.

Let's say somehow Bethesda can get User Created mods as DLC on the 360/PS3, it would take a veritible army of QA and moderators to filter out all the harmful/obscene things, sort of like what happened on LBP and LBP2. For every 1 awesome level, there was 322 Genital-inspired levels, and copyright violations. That's not even including the thousands of daily, just plain bad, user generated content.

I would totally watch that film.

ONLY for the Xbox?

I thought the PS3 is the first console to support steamworks with Portal 2 and it's exclusive to PS3?

Can't imagine why anyone would just be plain against this.

Imo, I'd appreciate popular mods chosen by Bethesda being available to Xbox Skyrim owners. Just as long as they were free.

I dunno about Valve, but anything you make with the GECK or the CS belongs to Bethesda. (As it should be... The price for access to the tools.)

Great news at the chance of the possibility of mods on consoles... :)

They would need to be free.... or if the creator get royalties, creating third person Mods in Skyrim and other games might become a lucrative business and IMO might be taken over by a few entrepreneurs, who put together professionals to make some professional quality non-canon mods (which might be a cool thing).

I have to think that acceptance would require a complete waiver of ownership. Its just not worth the hassle otherwise.

Well we already know for a fact it won't happen with skyrim thats been confirmed but it is good news for mods on other games in the future.
