Vampire after main quest?

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 8:19 am

I just completed the main quest again and realized that I've never done all of the vampire quests in Morrowind.

I know during the main quest you get 100% disease resistance thus rendering you unable to contract porphyric hemophilia. But what if you created a spell on self with 100% weakness to disease?
It's not really a big deal if I have to start over since I've done that many times. Just curious :foodndrink:

If you have completed the main quest you will indeed be immune to the early part of the disease. Go get a weakness to common disease spell from Medila Indaren in the Caldera Mages Guild, get it made as strong as possible on self and cast it before getting bitten.

Imagine if you are an argonian trying to get vampirism >_<
Similar strategy works, though.

Either way, you have to stand there for a while while a vampire (preferably more than one) attacks you.

I bet an argonian as a vampire looks pretty awesome :goodjob:

I have another question and I didn't really want to create a new thread for it;

I seem to have a way of making people angry in Morrowind without remembering how I did it.
On one character I can't join the thieves guild because "even we have standards dark elf, and you don't meet them" and now this Baren Alen guy says "I will not barter with such as you" even though his disposition is at 100 :brokencomputer:
I assume it has something to do with the fact that on this newest character I robbed the Hlaalu vaults and got caught trying to disarm the doors enchantments quite a few times... but I paid my fines and my name is cleared so what's the deal?

Also just as a tip for anyone who doesn't want to piss off the people of Morrowind like I have: Don't forget that you are wearing an indoril helm [and armor I think] while talking to an ordinator. Because they will attack you, and then on after, every ordinator you run across will immediately try to kill you even if you are no longer wearing said armor. :toughninja:

Google first ask later... Reason why you cannot join the thieves guild is because you completed the sottidles code book quest. It lowers the dispositition with thieves guild below 0 and then they wont let you join. There was a console command to fix this but i forgot it(Google it). Baren Alen... is he the guy at Suran? I had the same problem and I have no idea why is that... unless he's part of the thieves guild or racist... only my redguard couldn't trade with him >:[

To force an entry into Thieves after you have done the Fighters Code Book Quest - and you are on pc and can use the console -

PCJoinFaction "Thieves"

Baren Alen is a Hlaalu member so if you are not in that faction he will not trade with you.

This forum has a considerable greater knowledge than Google and is why members ask here first. However, had you taken your own advice and "Googled it" for Baren Alen you would have found the answer in the first entry and seen that he is in Vivec - not Suran.

I knew why I couldn't join the thieves guild buddy. I was just saying that in a light manor as to how I piss off the citizens of Vvardenfell.

My only question was why I couldn't barter with Baren Alen. I didn't think it was faction because most of the time they will say "Factions members only [insert player race here]" Instead of "I will not barter with such as you" Which normally means they don't like you.
And as the bear said the members of the forum know more and quite frankly I prefer to get my info from people instead of google. :foodndrink:

I think joining the Imperial Legion kind of conflicts with the Thieves Guild too, if you did that.

MW =/= Oblivion. You can't join EVERY single faction with one character :P

Oblivion had factions? Could have fooled me.

I actually like how alot of the citizens of Morrowind belong to factions, and by working with factions that oppose theirs you actually become hated by them. It adds a level of consequence to your actions.

To add the the original inquiry: My first MW character somehow became hated by the Imperials so much that Guards and such would all attack him on sight. I think is might have had something to do with going into Imperial Forts and slaughtering everyone in them, but im not sure. Anyone know of any specific action that makes all imperial guards attack on sight?
