Vampire City

Post » Tue May 03, 2011 6:51 am

I just had this crazy idea recently that it would be cool to add a vampire city to skyrim.

A community of lets say 50 vampires, living in a village covered from the sun in a valley (not a cave).
Why not a cave? Because they want to be normal, like normal people. Therefor, they also do not drink the blood of humans, but only boars, bears, rabbits & other creatures.

Only way to find / get accepted in this village is to become a vampire yourself.
This way it can also create a gate to more difficult tasks (since your no weak player anymore)

You could have a major quest around it to extermine the struggle of leadership.
Be the leader yourself, or let one of two other potential leaders take the crown.
Change the vampires to do what you want them to do. Create war, or remain pacifists.

Help them in their poisoned lifes, or whipe them out as a vampirehunter (you could get that quest in a nearby town and take a follower with you)

There is a lot of potential in this idea, i think.
So what do you think? Vampire city or no?

Maybe a Vampire Cult you can join or destroy but not an entire village.

I'd rather do what they did in MW, have a few cave and abandoned holdings. Vamps do need to be on the move, as there are plenty of adventurers and vampire hunters who are constantly on the move to wipe out nests of the creatures. Also, vamps need clans brought back, ala Morrowind, but expanded.

No village. That would draw WAY too much notice.

Hm... very interesting idea. I would prefer a smaller city (like you said ~50 people), but i would prefer a cave, actually i'd prefer some underground ruins, but still a fully functional city nonetheless.

It could be filled with quests, shops, "Cattle", vampire guards, a government (which could be the central point of some quests)... it'd be cool.

This would be a good alternative to separate, smaller clans (with things llike the clan HQs in Morrowind)

Not a city, that would be way weird... Cult living in, say farming village, cave, something like that, fair enough. But a city build on vampires just seems... Well plain wrong, dammit! :P

I voted for a Cult/House. No need for a full villiage espically if you are not welcomed to be in it. It would also be in one spot so I like how in Morrowind they were all spread out so you can have them all over the place.

Also I don't have much confidence in Bethesda right now to even do Vampires correctly. I am scraed that Bethesds wants to increase sales, for the "common gamer" that they would make these Vampires glitter in the sun. They really dropped the ball on vampires in Oblivion espically for PS3 users, so I wouldn't even mind if there is no Vampries in Skyrim this time.

Unless they can do a good job with them this time, have them in cults or Houses, so there is only a few in them. Having 50 of them in a villiage just seems like such a waste. What will these NPC vampires do? Not a bad idea, but really needs to be properly implemented. Like anyone from the mages guild would be accepted. But now there is no mages guilds so there goes one idea.

Agreed. But if there was a village, perhaps one of the tangents of the mages guild (i forget their names) would befriend the vampires.

I think with the two derivitives to the mages guild, there will be one the accepts the need to understand the dark arts (necromancy & maybe vampirism) while the other guild wants to censor that information, as to not give anyone any bad ideas.

maybe the count of skingrad (janus hassildor) could be part of some sort of that government, or something, it would be pretty interesting to see some of the more powerful vampires in OB back in Skyrim... Or something like that..

Since Cyrodiilic Vampires who really can blend in normal society other Vampires (those from Skyrim) should have their own settlements.
Not a whole city, but maybe every clan (if there are multiple clans) should have a few hideouts, safe houses, caves, villages or soemthing similar.
Of course some vampires should still be able to blend in normal society but these should be exceptions.

Like a few others have said, I'd prefer just a clan system like they had in Morrowind.

What about some caves under a town or city filled with Vampires but like the OP said, not looking for a fight Something like Hackdirt but the town isn't as small as Hackdirt.

So, pretty much Morrowind, with a few hanging around the Mages Guild (or organizations with similar views).

I'm completely against a village, as it would be as though they held a sign saying "Come, please kill us." A village of vamps could work in Cyrodiil, but that's only due to the Cyrodiilic clan being able to look normal, instead of a fugly cursed abomination.

damn twilight fans... what is it with the fascination of vampires? jesus christ those vampires aren't even cool, not in TES or in Twilight or most [censored] you'll see (including blade) awesome vampires are like in hellsing, where they are actually NOT human anymore. or in shiki when they're actually undead.

on subject tho, Cult or house would be fine, town or city hell no, but maybe a town that was overrun by vampires and is now abandoned with vampires lurking around would be interesting.

If they do have vampires, they better stay in the dark. Sunny vampires are [censored]. A cult or different clans would be better.
